When starting a new academic year, it is very significant for students to go through the syllabus to have an overview of the topics they have to cover. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is one of the largest boards in India which is accountable for secondary and senior secondary education in schools affiliated to the board. It is a national-level board that conducts the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams every year for the students of these schools.
CBSE is also responsible to monitor and maintain the quality of education in these schools, from Class 1 to Class 12. The annual exams, however, are conducted by the respective schools and not by CBSE. But all schools affiliated with CBSE follow the NCERT curriculum as recommended by CBSE. Most of the state board syllabus is based on the CBSE syllabus for the respective classes. Even various competitive exams in India are based on the CBSE syllabus.
