Overview
The syllabus of ICSE class 9, Biology, is according to the latest CISCE curriculum and guidelines. Students are suggested to go through this Biology syllabus properly and have a comprehensive knowledge of the respective topics. Let us see the syllabus:
1- Basic Biology:
(i) The cell, a unit of life, protoplasm, basic difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell; differences between an animal and a plant cell.
(ii) Tissues: Types of plant and animal tissues.
2- Flowering Plants
(i) Flower: Structure of a bisexual flower, functions of various parts.
(ii) Pollination: self and cross-pollination
(iii) Fertilisation
3- Plant Physiology
(i) Structure of dicot and monocot seeds, Germination of seeds, types, and conditions for seed germination.
(ii) Respiration in plants: outline of the process,
gaseous exchange.
4- Diversity in living organisms
(i) A brief outline of the five Kingdom classification.
(ii) Economic importance of Bacteria
(iii)Economic importance of Fungi.
5- Human Anatomy and Physiology
(i) Nutrition: Classes of food; balanced diet. Malnutrition and deficiency diseases. The structure of a tooth, different types of teeth. Digestive System: Organs, digestive glands and their functions.
(ii) Skeleton - Movement and Locomotion. Functions of human skeleton. Axial and Appendicular Skeleton. Types of joints with reference to their location.
(iii) Structure and functions of skin.
(iv) Respiratory System: Organs; mechanism of breathing; tissue respiration, heat production.
6- Health and Hygiene
(i) A brief introduction to maintaining good health.
(ii) A brief introduction to communicable, non-communicable, endemic, epidemic, pandemic and sporadic diseases; modes of transmission.
(iii)Bacterial, Viral, Protozoan, Helminthic diseases.
(iv) Aids to Health: Active and passive immunity
(v) Health Organisations: Red Cross, WHO.
7- Waste generation and management
(i) Sources of waste - domestic, industrial, agricultural, commercial and other establishments.
(ii) Methods of safe disposal of waste.

Also, the computers which are not in working condition and cannot be repaired accumulate as non-biodegradable waste.
Despite these disadvantages, a computer does not lose its importance and creates the need for computer education. With the growing use of the computer, the requirement for computer education is also. With such vast usage of computer systems, it has become necessary for each person to have the knowledge to use computer systems. Now computer education is being taught in schools and colleges. Elderly people are also trying to learn how to use a computer. As time is passing, technology is increasing. So for our own convenience, it has become important for all of us to gain computer education.

ICSE Syllabus For Class 9 English: While the Class 9 annual exams in schools affiliated with the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) are conducted by individual schools, the syllabus is determined by the ICSE board. ICSE-affiliated schools, from Classes 1 to 12, adhere to the curriculum prescribed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The ICSE Syllabus for Class 9 English is based on the CISCE curriculum guidelines.
This course is designed based on the syllabus developed in accordance with the National Curriculum Framework (2005) and the National Education Policy (2020). It goes beyond traditional English language teaching, which typically involves reading books and solving exercise-based questions.
