1.  Celebrated every year on January 1, Global Family Day starts the new year with a positive message of unity to the world. Global Family Day, also known as World Peace Day, is celebrated every year to promote the concept of harmony and unity in the world. Furthermore, it emphasizes the idea of the world as a global village in which we are all family, regardless of citizenship, borders, or race. It all started in 1997 when the United Nations General Assembly launched the International Decade for the Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World.

Ø प्रत्येक वर्ष 1 जनवरी को मनाया जाने वाला वैश्विक परिवार दिवस, विश्व को एकता के सकारात्मक संदेश प्रदान करते हुए नए वर्ष को प्रारम्भ करता है। विश्व परिवार दिवस, जिसे विश्व शांति दिवस के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, प्रत्येक वर्ष विश्व में सद्भाव और एकता की अवधारणा को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए मनाया जाता है। इसके साथ ही, यह विश्व के एक वैश्विक ग्राम के रूप में विचार पर जोर देता है जिसमें नागरिकता, सीमाओं या नस्ल पर विचार करते हुए बिना हम सभी परिवार हैं। यह वर्ष1997 में प्रारम्भ हुआ, जब संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने विश्व के बच्चों के लिए शांति और अहिंसा की संस्कृति के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दशक का शुभारंभ किया था।

2.The second phase of the Sari Festival “VIRAASAT”-Celebrating 75 handwoven Saris of India will begin from 3rd to 17th January 2023 at Handloom Haat, Janpath, New Delhi. The Sari Festival VIRAASAT is organized by the Ministry of Textile. In the second stage phase, there are 90 participants from different parts of the country. The first phase of VIRAASAT- Celebrating 75 handwoven Saris of India started on 16th December 2022 and was concluded on 30th December 2022. The event was inaugurated by Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman on 16th December along with Minister of State Darshana Jardosh. In the first phase of VIRAASAT, there were 70 participants.

Ø साड़ी महोत्सव "विरासत" - भारत की 75 हाथ से बुनी साड़ियों का उत्सव, का दूसरा चरण 3 से 17 जनवरी 2023 तक हथकरघा हाट, जनपथ, नई दिल्ली में प्रारम्भ होगा। साड़ी महोत्सव “विरासत” का आयोजन कपड़ा मंत्रालय द्वारा किया जाता है। दूसरे चरण के अंतर्गत देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों से 90 प्रतिभागी आए हैं। विरासत - भारत की हाथ से बुनी 75 साड़ियों का उत्सव, का पहला चरण 16 दिसंबर 2022 को प्रारंभ हुआ था और 30 दिसंबर 2022 को समाप्त हुआ था। इस कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन 16 दिसंबर को वित्त मंत्री श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारमण ने राज्य मंत्री दर्शना जरदोश के साथ किया था। “विरासत” के पहले चरण में 70 प्रतिभागी थे।

3.30th December 2022 is the sixth anniversary of indigenously developed payment application BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money). It was launched on 30th December in 2016 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BHIM is a biometric payment system app using the Aadhar platform and is based on Unified Payment Interface (UPI) to facilitate e-payments directly through bank. It can be used on all mobile devices, be it a smartphone or a feature phone with or without internet connection. UPI transaction has gained traction over the year. UPI transaction value for the month of November this year was 11.90 lakh crore rupees while the transaction volume was 7.30 billion.

Ø 30 दिसंबर 2022; स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित भुगतान एप्लिकेशन भीम (भारत इंटरफेस फॉर मनी) की छठी वर्षगांठ है। इसे 30 दिसंबर 2016 को प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा लॉन्च किया गया था। BHIM एक बायोमेट्रिक भुगतान प्रणाली ऐप है; जो आधार प्लेटफॉर्म का उपयोग करता है और सीधे बैंक के माध्यम से ई-भुगतान की सुविधा के लिए यूनिफाइड पेमेंट इंटरफेस (UPI) पर आधारित है। इसका उपयोग सभी मोबाइल उपकरणों पर किया जा सकता है, यद्यपि वह स्मार्टफोन हो या इंटरनेट कनेक्शन के साथ या बिना फीचर फोन। यूपीआई लेनदेन ने वर्ष भर वृद्धि प्राप्त की है। इस वर्ष नवंबर माह में यूपीआई भुगतान का मूल्य 11.90 लाख करोड़ रुपये था जबकि भुगतान की मात्रा 7.30 अरब थी।

4.  The public sector lender said that the centre has appointed Ajay Kumar Srivastava as the managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of the bank with effect from the date of assumption of office on or after 1 January 2023. Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) said that Partha Pratim Sengupta has demitted office as MD & CEO of the bank on 31 December 2022 being the date of his superannuation. Indian Overseas Bank is one of the public sector banks (PSB) in India. As of 30 September 2022, the Government of India held 96.38% in IOB, followed by institutional investors, the public, and others.

Ø सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के ऋणदाता इंडियन ओवरसीज बैंक के अनुसार केंद्र सरकार ने अजय कुमार श्रीवास्तव को बैंक का प्रबंध निदेशक (एमडी) और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) नियुक्त किया है, जो 1 जनवरी 2023 को या उसके बाद पदभार ग्रहण करने की तिथि से प्रभावी होगा। इंडियन ओवरसीज बैंक ( IOBके अनुसार पार्थ प्रतिम सेनगुप्ता ने 31 दिसंबर 2022 को बैंक के एमडी और सीईओ के रूप में पद छोड़ दिया है, जो उनकी सेवानिवृत्ति की तिथि है। इंडियन ओवरसीज बैंक भारत में सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंकों (PSB) में से एक है। 30 सितंबर 2022 तक, IOB में भारत सरकार की 96.38% हिस्सेदारी थी, इसके शेष संस्थागत निवेशक, जनता और अन्य लोग थे।

5.Research by the Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO), National Centre for Earth Sciences (NCES), and the Andhra University (AU) has revealed that constant rip current zones at blue flag-certified Rushikonda beach and RK Beach have become a danger to the beach visitors. Major forecast experiments for rip currents are being planned in the city. Bheemili beach, and Rushikonda beach, besides Yarada beach, have turned into death traps.

Ø भारतीय अंतरिक्ष और अनुसंधान संगठन (ISRO), राष्ट्रीय पृथ्वी विज्ञान केंद्र (NCES), और आंध्र विश्वविद्यालय (AU) द्वारा किए गए शोध से पता चला है कि ब्लू फ्लैग-प्रमाणित ऋषिकोंडा समुद्र तट और आर के समुद्र तट, आगंतुकों के लिए संकटग्रस्त क्ष्रेत्र बन गए हैं। इस शहर में चीर ज्वार के लिए प्रमुख पूर्वानुमान प्रयोगों की योजना बनाई जा रही है। यारदा बीच के अतिरिक्त भीमिली बीच और ऋषिकोंडा बीच अत्यधिक संकटग्रस्त बीच के रूप में परिवर्तित हो गए हैं।

6. RK Krishnakumar, a Tata Group veteran and former Tata Sons director died in Mumbai on January 1, 2023. Krishnakumar is well-known for his role in several Tata Group acquisitions. Krishnakumar continued to hold trustee positions for the Sir Dorabji Tata and Sir Ratan Tata Trusts, which together own 66 percent of Tata Sons, and he continued to be a member of the Tata Administrative Service. Krishnakumar received the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian honour, in 2009 for his contributions to the country's trade and business.

Ø टाटा समूह के दिग्गज और टाटा संस के पूर्व निदेशक आरके कृष्णकुमार का 1 जनवरी, 2023 को मुंबई में निधन हो गया। कृष्णकुमार को टाटा समूह के कई अधिग्रहणों में उनकी भूमिका के लिए जाना जाता है। कृष्णकुमार सर दोराबजी टाटा और सर रतन टाटा ट्रस्ट्स के लिए ट्रस्टी पदों पर बने रहे, जो टाटा संस के 66 प्रतिशत के मालिक हैं, और वे टाटा प्रशासनिक सेवा के सदस्य बने रहे। कृष्णकुमार को देश के व्यापार और व्यवसाय में उनके योगदान के लिए 2009 में भारत का चौथा सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान पद्म श्री मिला था।

7.     SBI Cards and Payment Services announced that it has partnered with Punjab & Sind Bank to launch co-brand credit cards for the bank's customers. The collaboration also marks the introduction of 'credit cards' as a new product segment under the bank's portfolio. Both the partners have rolled out three card variants - PSB SBI Card ELITE, PSB SBI Card PRIME, and PSB SimplySAVE SBI Card.

Ø एसबीआई कार्ड्स एंड पेमेंट सर्विसेज ने घोषणा की है कि उसने बैंक के ग्राहकों के लिए सह-ब्रांड क्रेडिट कार्ड लॉन्च करने के लिए पंजाब एंड सिंध बैंक के साथ साझेदारी की है। कंपनी ने कहा कि सहयोग बैंक के पोर्टफोलियो के अंतर्गत एक नए उत्पाद खंड के रूप में 'क्रेडिट कार्ड' की शुरुआत की जा रही है। दोनों साझेदारों ने कार्ड के तीन संस्करण पेश किए हैं- पीएसबी एसबीआई कार्ड एलीट, पीएसबी एसबीआई कार्ड प्राइम और पीएसबी सिम्पलीसेव एसबीआई कार्ड।

8.In a first, Kolkata will soon have India’s first underwater metro service. The Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation (KMRC) on Friday said that the East-West Metro Corridor project is expected to be completed by December 2023. The ongoing underwater tunnel project is likely to be completed by December 2023. The metro line connecting Howrah and Sealdah will reduce commute time between the two points to 40 minutes from 90 minutes currently taken by road. It will also ease vehicular congestion on both sides.

Ø  पहली बार, कोलकाता में शीघ्र ही भारत की पहली अंडरवाटर मेट्रो सेवा प्रारंभ होगी। कोलकाता मेट्रो रेल कॉर्पोरेशन (केएमआरसी) के अनुसार ईस्ट-वेस्ट मेट्रो कॉरिडोर परियोजना दिसंबर 2023 तक पूरी होने की उम्मीद है। पानी के नीचे संचालित हो रही सुरंग परियोजना के दिसंबर 2023 तक पूरी होने की संभावना है। हावड़ा और सियालदह को जोड़ने वाली मेट्रो लाइन वर्तमान में सड़क मार्ग से लिए जाने वाले 90 मिनट से दो बिंदुओं के बीच यात्रा के समय को घटाकर 40 मिनट कर देगा। इससे दोनों तरफ वाहनों का जाम भी कम होगा।

9.With an aim to invite ideas, solutions and actions that can transform rural economy, the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) has launched the Prajjwala Challenge. It is one of the platforms where ideas are invited from individuals, Social Enterprises, Start up, Private Sector, Civil Society, Community Based Organization, Academic Institution, Start-ups, Incubation centres, Investors etc having potential to transform the rural economy. The Mission so far has mobilised more than 87 Million women in to the Self Hep Groups and their federations.

Ø दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना - राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन (डीएवाई- एनआरएलएम) ने ग्रामीण अर्थव्यवस्था को बदलने वाले विचारों, समाधानों और कार्यों को आमंत्रित करने के उद्देश्य से प्रज्ज्वला चैलेंज शुरू किया है। यह उन प्लेटफार्मों में से एक है जहां ग्रामीण अर्थव्यवस्था को बदलने की क्षमता रखने वाले व्यक्तियों, सामाजिक-उद्यमों, स्टार्ट-अप, निजी-क्षेत्र, नागरिक-समाज, समुदाय आधारित संगठन, शैक्षणिक संस्थान, स्टार्ट-अप, इन्क्यूबेशन केंद्रों, निवेशकों आदि से विचार आमंत्रित किए जाते हैं। मिशन ने अब तक 8 करोड़ 70 लाख से अधिक महिलाओं को स्वयं सहायता समूहों और उनके संघों में शामिल किया है।

10.The Defence Ministry has started the process for the procurement of 100 more K9-Vajra tracked self-propelled howitzers which are built in India by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) using technology transferred from South Korean defence major Hanwha Defense. The Defence Ministry issued the Request For Proposal to L&T in November. 

Ø रक्षा मंत्रालय ने 100 और K9-वजरा ट्रैक किए गए स्व-चालित हॉवित्जर की खरीद के लिए प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है, जो भारत में लार्सन एंड टुब्रो (L&T) द्वारा दक्षिण कोरियाई रक्षा प्रमुख हनवा डिफेंस से स्थानांतरित तकनीक का उपयोग करके बनाई गई हैं। रक्षा मंत्रालय ने नवंबर में एलएंडटी को रिक्वेस्ट फॉर प्रपोजल जारी किया था।
