1.       The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed invoicing and payments for international trade in Indian Rupee.

 

2.       The latest data of NPCI showed that UPI transactions have crossed 6 billion  in the month of July which is the highest ever since 2016. On month-on-month, UPI transactions have risen by over 7% in volume terms and nearly 5% in value terms.


3.       India won three medals on Day 4 of Commonwealth Games 2022 at Birmingham. Judoka Shushila Devi Likmabam won the silver medal , Judo star Vijay Kumar Yadav clinched bronze , weightlifter Harjinder Kaur won the bronze medal. India’s medal tally reaches to 9 with 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.


4.       Senior Indian Information Service officer, Satyendra Prakash has been appointed as the Principal Director General of the Press Information Bureau (PIB).


5.      Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has released a book titled Lockdown Lyrics’, a collection of poems written by Sanjukta Dash.


6.       The Ministry of Culture organized “TirangaUtsav” -an evening filled with cultural and musical performances to celebrate the contributions of PingaliVenkayya to the nation on the occasion of his 146th Birth Anniversary in New Delhi.


7.       The World Bank has appointed Auguste Tano Kouamé as the Country Director for India, effective. He replaces Junaid Kamal Ahmad who recently completed a five-year term.


8.       Canadian scholar, Jeffrey Armstrong has been awarded the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Distinguished Indologist for 2021.


9.       Indian Oil signed an MoU with National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) for transcontinental relocation of ‘Cheetah’. Indian Oil will be contributing Rs.50.22 crore in 4 years for the project components.

 

10.   Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated the fourth ONGC Para Games in Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi. ONGC conceptualized and started this Para Games in 2017, to mainstream the especially-abled persons on their rolls.
