1.Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on 2nd October every year to mark the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who was famously known as Mahatma Gandhi. Father of the Nation, as he was called, led India’s freedom movement along with many other national leaders against the British rule in India. His method of non-violence inspired many civil rights movements across the world.  To celebrate his contribution to the nation, 2nd October is celebrated every year as a national holiday. The day is also celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence by the United Nations.

Ø प्रत्येक वर्ष 2 अक्टूबर को मोहनदास करमचंद गांधी; जिन्हें महात्मा गांधी के नाम से जाना जाता था,की जयंती मनाई जाती है। जैसा कि उन्हें राष्ट्रपिता कहा जाता है, गांधी जी ने भारत में ब्रिटिश शासन के खिलाफ कई अन्य राष्ट्रीय नेताओं के साथ भारत के स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन का नेतृत्व किया था। अहिंसा के उनके तरीके ने विश्व भर में कई नागरिक अधिकार आंदोलनों को प्रेरित किया था। राष्ट्र में उनके योगदान को स्मरण करने के लिए,  प्रत्येक वर्ष 2 अक्टूबर को राष्ट्रीय अवकाश के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अहिंसा दिवस के रूप में भी मनाया जाता है।

2. On October 2 every year, the nation celebrates the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri who served as the second Prime Minister of India from 1964 to 1966. Born in 1904 in Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh, Shastri was an exemplary leader and a man of vision. Right from days of being a seasoned freedom fighter to taking charge as the Prime Minister, Shastri continues to inspire Indians with his leadership style and humble personality.

Ø प्रत्येक वर्ष 2 अक्टूबर को, राष्ट्र लाल बहादुर शास्त्री की जयंती मनाता है, जिन्होंने 1964 से 1966 तक भारत के दूसरे प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया था। 1904 में उत्तर प्रदेश के मुगलसराय में जन्मे शास्त्री एक अनुकरणीय नेता और दूरदर्शी व्यक्ति थे। एक अनुभवी स्वतंत्रता सेनानी होने से लेकर प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में कार्यभार संभालने तक, लाल बहादुर शास्त्री अपनी नेतृत्व शैली और विनम्र व्यक्तित्व से भारतीयों को प्रेरित करते रहे हैं।

3. The Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, launched YUVA 2.0 - Prime Minister’s Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors, an Author Mentorship programme to train young and budding authors (below 30 years of age) in order to promote reading, writing and book culture in the country, and project India and Indian writings globally. In view of the significant impact of the first edition of YUVA with large scale participation from young and budding authors in 22 different Indian languages and English, YUVA 2.0 is now being launched.

Ø शिक्षा मंत्रालय के उच्च शिक्षा विभाग ने देश में पढ़ने, लिखने एवं पुस्तक संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देने और वैश्विक स्तर पर भारत एवं भारतीय लेखन को प्रस्तुत करने के उद्देश्य से युवा एवं नवोदित लेखकों (30 वर्ष से कम आयु) को प्रशिक्षित करने हेतु युवा 2.0- युवा लेखकों को परामर्श देने वाली योजना की शुरुआत की है। युवा एवं नवोदित लेखकों की 22 विभिन्न भारतीय भाषाओं और अंग्रेजी में बड़े स्तर पर भागीदारी के साथ युवा के पहले संस्करण के उल्लेखनीय प्रभाव को देखते हुए, युवा 2.0 की शुरुआत की गई है।

4. Haryana government has decided to hire two international firms to develop the world’s largest jungle safari park spread across 10,000 acres in the Aravalli range of Gurugram and Nuh districts near Delhi. The proposed project will be jointly developed by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and the Haryana government. The Centre will also provide funds to the state for the project.

Ø हरियाणा सरकार ने दिल्ली के पास गुरुग्राम और नूंह जिलों की अरावली रेंज में 10,000 एकड़ में विस्तृत विश्व के सबसे बड़े जंगल सफारी पार्क को विकसित करने के लिए दो अंतरराष्ट्रीय फर्मों के माध्यम से इसे पूरा करने का निर्णय लिया है। प्रस्तावित परियोजना को केंद्रीय पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय और हरियाणा सरकार द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से विकसित किया जाएगा। केंद्र, इस परियोजना के लिए राज्य को धन भी प्रदान करेगा।

5. Every year, International Coffee Day is observed on October 1, to celebrate and promote the use of coffee. The day is marked to celebrate “the coffee sector’s diversity, quality and passion.” It is an opportunity for coffee lovers to share their love of the beverage and support farmers whose livelihood depends on the aromatic crop. Every year 77 Member States of the International Coffee Organization (ICO), dozens of coffee associates, and millions of coffee lovers come together to celebrate their favourite beverage.

Ø प्रत्येक वर्ष, कॉफी के उपयोग को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए 1 अक्टूबर को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कॉफी दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह दिन "कॉफी क्षेत्र की विविधता, गुणवत्ता और उत्साह" को मनाने के लिए मनाया जाता है। यह कॉफी प्रेमियों के लिए पेय के प्रति अपने प्रेम को अभिव्यक्त करने और उन किसानों का समर्थन करने का अवसर है, जिनकी आजीविका सुगंधित फसल पर निर्भर करती है। प्रत्येक वर्ष अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कॉफी संगठन (आईसीओ) के 77 सदस्य देश, दर्जनों कॉफी सहयोगी और लाखों कॉफी प्रेमी अपने पसंदीदा पेय का उत्सव मनाने के लिए एक साथ आते हैं।

6. Taking India’s digital transformation and connectivity to new heights, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched 5G services in India. He also unveiled various 5G use cases of various Telecom Service Providers in Education, Health, worker safety, smart agriculture etc. Earlier, he also launched indigenous 5G NSA Core developed by Centre for Development of Telematics (CDoT) and witnessed various technology demonstrations of enterprise 5G solutions, chipsets, networking equipment developed by Indian telecom start-ups, MSMEs and large manufacturers.

Ø भारत के डिजिटल परिवर्तन और कनेक्टिविटी को नई ऊंचाइयों पर ले जाते हुए, प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी ने भारत में 5जी सेवाओं की शुरुआत की। उन्होंने शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, कर्मचारी सुरक्षा, स्मार्ट कृषि आदि में विभिन्न दूरसंचार सेवा प्रदाताओं के विभिन्न 5जी उपयोग मामलों का भी अनावरण किया। इससे पहले, उन्होंने सेंटर फॉर डेवलपमेंट ऑफ टेलीमैटिक्स (सीडॉट) द्वारा विकसित स्वदेशी 5जी एनएसए कोर भी लॉन्च किया और उद्यम के विभिन्न प्रौद्योगिकी प्रदर्शनों को देखा। उन्होंने भारतीय दूरसंचार स्टार्ट-अप, एमएसएमई और बड़े निर्माताओं द्वारा विकसित 5जी समाधान, चिपसेट, नेटवर्किंग उपकरणों से सम्बंधित प्रदर्शनी के बारे में जानकारी प्राप्त की।

7. India celebrated 8 years of Swachh Bharat Mission and the first anniversary of SBM-Urban 2.0. President Droupadi Murmu felicitated the awardees of the cleanest States and cities at the award ceremony of Azadi@75 Swachh Survekshan 2022. Indore, the city of lakes and palaces, walked away with the Cleanest City title for the sixth consecutive year, in the ‘more than 1 lakh population’ category, while Surat was adjudged the second cleanest city, for the second time in a row. Navi Mumbai bagged the third spot.  In the population category of ‘less than 1 lakh’, Panchgani and Karad from Maharashtra bagged the first and third positions respectively, while Patan from Chhattisgarh bagged the second position.

Ø भारत, स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के 8 वर्ष और एसबीएम-शहरी 2.0 की पहली वर्षगांठ को भव्य रूप से मना रहा है। इस अवसर पर राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने आज़ादी @ 75 वर्ष के अवसर पर स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण 2022 के पुरस्कार समारोह में सबसे स्वच्छ राज्यों और शहरों के पुरस्कार विजेताओं को सम्मानित किया। '1 लाख से अधिक आबादी' की श्रेणी में झीलों और महलों के शहर इंदौर ने लगातार छठे वर्ष सबसे स्वच्छ शहर का खिताब प्राप्त किया, जबकि सूरत शहर को लगातार दूसरी बार दूसरा सबसे स्वच्छ शहर घोषित किया गया। नवी मुंबई ने तीसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया है। 1 लाख से कम की जनसंख्या की श्रेणी में महाराष्ट्र के पंचगनी और कराड ने क्रमश: पहला और तीसरा स्थान हासिल किया, जबकि छत्तीसगढ़ के पाटन ने दूसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया है।

8. The International Day of Non-Violence is observed on 2 October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement and pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence. According to General Assembly resolution A/RES/61/271 of 15 June 2007, which established the commemoration, the International Day is an occasion to "disseminate the message of non-violence, including through education and public awareness". The resolution reaffirms "the universal relevance of the principle of non-violence" and the desire "to secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence".

Ø अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अहिंसा दिवस 2 अक्टूबर; जो कि भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन के नेता और अहिंसा के दर्शन और रणनीति के अग्रदूत महात्मा गांधी का जन्मदिवस है, को मनाया जाता है। 15 जून 2007 के संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा के प्रस्ताव के अनुसार, यह अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस "शिक्षा और जन जागरूकता के माध्यम से अहिंसा के संदेश का प्रसार" करने का एक अवसर है। यह संकल्प "अहिंसा के सिद्धांत की सार्वभौमिक प्रासंगिकता" और "शांति, सहिष्णुता, समझ और अहिंसा की संस्कृति को सुरक्षित करने" की इच्छा की पुष्टि करता है।

9. Russian President Vladimir Putin has proclaimed the annexation of four partially occupied Ukrainian regions at a signing ceremony in the Kremlin. Ukraine, Western countries and the United Nations secretary-general have denounced the move, which represents a major escalation in the war that began with Russia’s invasion on February 24. At the ceremony on Friday, Putin said Russia has “four new regions”, calling the residents of Ukraine’s occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions “our citizens forever”.

Ø रूसी राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन ने क्रेमलिन में एक हस्ताक्षर समारोह में आंशिक रूप से कब्जे वाले चार यूक्रेनी क्षेत्रों के दावेदारी की घोषणा की है। यूक्रेन, पश्चिमी देशों और संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव ने इस कदम की निंदा की है, जो 24 फरवरी को रूस के आक्रमण के साथ शुरू हुए युद्ध में एक बड़ी वृद्धि का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है। रूसी राष्ट्रपति पुतिन ने कहा है कि रूस के पास अब "चार नए क्षेत्र" हैं। यूक्रेन के कब्जे वाले डोनेट्स्क, लुहान्स्क, खेरसॉन और ज़ापोरिज़िया क्षेत्रों के निवासी "हमारे हमेशा के लिए नागरिक" बन गए हैं।

10. The United Nations observes the first Monday of October as World Habitat Day. The day calls to reflect on our towns, cities, and the basic right of all to have adequate shelter. It serves as a reminder that we can shape the future of the place we live in. The day came into existence with a resolution by the UN General Assembly in 1985. This year, World Habitat Day will be observed on October 3. This year’s theme is “Mind the Gap. Leave No One and Place Behind”.

Ø संयुक्त राष्ट्र अक्टूबर के पहले सोमवार को विश्व पर्यावास (हैबिटैट) दिवस के रूप में मनाता है। यह दिन हमारे कस्बों, शहरों और पर्याप्त आश्रय के लिए सभी के मूल अधिकार को प्रतिबिंबित करने का आह्वान करता है। यह एक अनुस्मारक के रूप में कार्य करता है कि हम उस स्थान के भविष्य को आकार दे सकते हैं जहां हम रहते हैं। यह दिन 1985 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा एक प्रस्ताव के साथ अस्तित्व में आया था। इस वर्ष, विश्व पर्यावास दिवस 3 अक्टूबर को मनाया जाएगा। इस वर्ष की थीम "माइंड द गैप- लीव नो वन एंड प्लेस बिहाइंड है।
