Sashastra Seema Bal’s director general in New
Delhi, Dr. Sujoy Lal Thaosen assumed the additional responsibility of Director
General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. Dr. Thaosen is a Madhya Pradesh
Cadre IPS Officer from the 1988 batch.

Recently, a book was relesed “Lion of the Skies:
Hardit Singh Malik, the Royal Air Force and the First World War” , mainly
focussed on “India’s first fighter pilot” has been written by author Stephen
Barker

Marine biologist Ellen Prager written a book
“Dangerous Earth: What we wish we knew about volcanoes, hurricanes, climate
change, earthquakes and more”.

India adds 10 more wetlands designated as Ramsar
sites. The 10 new sites include: Six (6)
sites in Tamil Nadu and One (1) each in Goa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and
Odisha. Total number of sites are now 64.

Suresh N. Patel has been appointed as a Central
Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) by the President. Mr. Suresh N. Patel administered
the oath of office to former IB chief Arvind Kumar and ex-IAS officer Praveen
Kumar Srivastava as the vigilance commissioners.

India won 4 medals on day 5 of Commonwealth
Games 2022 at Birmingham. With this, India’s medal tally reaches 13 with 5
golds, 5 silvers and 3 bronze medals.

The Vice President flagged off the ‘Har Ghar
Tiranga’ bike rally of MPs from Red Fort to Vijay Chowk. The rally was
organised by the Ministry of Culture to amplify the awareness of ‘Har Ghar
Tiranga’.

RIMPAC, considered to be the world’s largest
maritime exercise, witnessed participation of 26 countries comprising 38
surface ships, 09 land forces, 31 unmanned systems, 170 aircraft and over 2,500
personnel in and around Hawaii and southern California this year. India sent
INS Satpura, the indigenously designed and built 6000-tonne guided missile
stealth frigate equipped to seek and destroy adversary in air, surface and
underwater.

According to the latest press release of The
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) India’s financial inclusion index (FI-Index) for
the year ended March 31, 2022 increased to 56.4 from 53.9 in the previous year,
with growth witnessed across all its sub-indices. The index is published
annually in July.
10.
National Institute for Entrepreneurship and
Small Business Development (NIESBUD) and Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL)
signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for developing entrepreneurial
skills among the youth and identifying other aspects for mutual collaboration.
