1.     Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan launched eggs and milk scheme for Anganwadi children. This project aims to provide milk and eggs to children at all Anganwadis in the state to improve their nutrition levels.

 

2.     6 National Highway projects having total distance 119 km and costing Rs. 2300 crore were opened and the foundation stone was laid by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari In Madhya Pradesh.

 

3.     Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, Shweta Singh was appointed as a director in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved Singh’s appointment for a period of three years from the date of her joining.

 

4.     India won one silver and four bronze medals on the day 6 of Commonwealth Games 2022. India’s medal tally reaches 18 with 5 golds, 6 silvers and 7 bronze medals.

 

5.     Ministry of Culture has released the third Comic book on stories of 20 Tribal Freedom Fighters on 2nd August at Tiranga Utsav celebration in New Delhi. This collection of stories recalls the sacrifices of some of the bravest men and women who inspired their tribes and gave up their lives to fight British rule.

 

6.     Indigenously developed Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM) were successfully test-fired from Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Army at KK Ranges with support of Armoured Corps Centre & School (ACC&S) Ahmednagar in Maharashtra on August 04, 2022.

 

7.     The Criminal Procedure (Identification) Act, 2022 has come into effect from today. The new act authorises taking measurements of convicts and other persons for the purposes of identification and investigation in criminal matters and to preserve records. The new act replaced the Identification of Prisoners Act, 1920.

 

8.     India and the US will conduct a fortnight-long mega military exercise in Uttarakhand’s Auli in October this year. The 18th edition of exercise “Yudh Abhyas” is scheduled to take place from October 14 to 31. The last edition of the exercise took place in October last year in Alaska in the US.

 

9.     The United States Senate yesterday approved Finland and Sweden's accession to NATO. The vote on easily surpassed the two-thirds majority needed to back the ratification of the accession documents, with 95 Senators voting in support.


10.The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is running a flagship campaign known as NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) that was launched on 15 August 2020 in 272 districts of India.
