The Reserve Bank of India decided to expand the scope of the Trade Receivable Discounting System (TReDS) platform allowing the use of insurance facilities, permitting entities eligible to undertake factoring business to participate as financiers on TReDS and allowing secondary market operations on the platform.

To improve the distribution of coins among members of the public, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is preparing a pilot project on QR code-based Coin Vending Machine (QCVM) in collaboration with a few leading banks. The QCVM is a cashless coin dispensation machine which would dispense coins against a debit to the customer’s bank account using Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

MobiKwik, India’s leading fintech, has become the first fintech apps to support RuPay Credit Cards on UPI. With RuPay Credit Cards now linked directly to UPI IDs, MobiKwik’s customers can easily make payments to merchants by scanning the UPI QR code and using UPI PIN for payment authentication.

World Pulses Day is celebrated on 10 February to highlight the importance of pulses as a worldwide food.  The UN General Assembly proclaimed 2016 as the International Year of Pulses and in the year 2019, Assembly proclaimed 10 February to be observed as World Pulses Day. The theme of World Pulses Day 2023 is "Pulses for Sustainable Future". 

The ICC T-20 Women's World Cup kick starts in South Africa from 10th of February, with the opening match between the South Africa and Sri Lanka. This is the first time that the tournament is taking place in an African nation. The Newlands Stadium is scheduled to host the final on 26th February. 

Skye Air, a Gurugram-based drone solutions provider, launched traffic management system for drones in India. Launched in the presence of Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India Nitin Gadkari, the software will allow drone operators to plan routes, make flight plans and assess risks before running drone-based operations in the country. The solution, called Skye UTM, is a first-of-its-kind for India.

Founded by Rabindranath Tagore in 1921, Visva-Bharati University will soon get the ‘heritage’ tag from UNESCO to take the distinction of world’s first living heritage university. The development comes 11 years after the Union Culture Ministry appealed for the second time to secure the status of UNESCO heritage site for Santiniketan.

The summit will bring together policy makers, industry leaders, academia, think-tanks and leaders from across the world to collectively explore business opportunities and forge partnerships.

The 14th Aero India event will be held in Bengaluru between 13th and 17th of February. The event has been planned by Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDO, in which participants and stakeholders can witness enriching experiences of indigenous Defence technologies and systems. The 14th Aero India will aim at integrating various stakeholders of Defence research and development ecosystem in the country.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the second developmental flight of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV-D2) from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The SSLV-D2 successfully put into their intended orbit Earth Observation Satellite, Janus-1 and Chennai-based space start-up SpaceKidz's AzaadiSAT-2.
