10 November Current Affairs 

1.  Justice Dhananjaya Yashwant Chandrachud was sworn in as the 50th Chief Justice of India (CJI) by President Droupadi Murmu at a brief ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. His predecessor, Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, who demitted office on 08th November, was also present at the oath-taking ceremony.

Ø राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने राष्ट्रपति भवन में आयोजित एक समारोह में न्यायमूर्ति धनंजय यशवंत चंद्रचूड़ को भारत के 50 वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश (CJI) के रूप में शपथ दिलाई। उनके पूर्ववर्ती, न्यायमूर्ति उदय उमेश ललित; जिन्होंने 08 नवंबर को इस पद से सेवानिवृत्त हो गए थे, वह भी इस शपथ-ग्रहण समारोह में उपस्थित थे।

2.    The Indian Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), under the aegis of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India is organizing the ‘PM Gati Shakti Multimodal Waterways Summit’ on 11th - 12th November, 2022. The summit to be held at the Deendayal Hastkala Sankul (Trade Centre and Museum) Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh will bring about greater awareness about the PM Gati Shakti National Masterplan with focus on infrastructure development in the waterways.

Ø भारत सरकार के पत्तन, पोत परिवहन और जलमार्ग मंत्रालय के अधीन भारतीय अंतर्देशीय जलमार्ग प्राधिकरण (आईडब्ल्यूएआई) 11-12 नवंबर, 2022 को 'प्रधानमंत्री गति शक्ति मल्टीमॉडल जलमार्ग शिखर सम्मेलन' का आयोजन कर रहा है। इसका आयोजन उत्तर प्रदेश के वाराणसी स्थित दीनदयाल हस्तकला संकुल (व्यापार केंद्र और संग्रहालय) में किया जाएगा। यह सम्मेलन जलमार्ग क्षेत्र में आधारभूत ढांचे के विकास पर ध्यान देने के साथ प्रधानमंत्री गति शक्ति राष्ट्रीय व्यापक रूप-रेखा के बारे में व्यापक जागरूकता प्रदान करेगा।

3. Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman approves the final Sovereign Green Bonds framework of India. The approval is fulfilment of the announcement in the Union Budget FY 2022-23 by the Union Finance Minister that Sovereign Green Bonds will be issued for mobilising resources for green projects. Green bonds are financial instruments that generate proceeds for investment in environmentally sustainable and climate-suitable projects.

Ø केंद्रीय वित्त और कॉर्पोरेट मामलों की मंत्री श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारमण ने भारत के पहली सार्वभौम हरित बॉन्ड योजना को स्वीकृति प्रदान कर दी है। केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री द्वारा केंद्रीय बजट वित्त वर्ष 2022-23 में किये गए घोषणा के अंतर्गत इसे स्वीकृत किया गया है; जिसमें यह कहा गया था कि हरित परियोजनाओं के लिए संसाधन जुटाने के लिए सॉवरेन ग्रीन बांड जारी किए जाएंगे। ग्रीन बॉन्ड; एक वित्तीय साधन हैं, जो पर्यावरणीय रूप से टिकाऊ और जलवायु-उपयुक्त परियोजनाओं में निवेश के लिए आय सृजित करते हैं।

4.    The 42 International Congress of the Indian National Cartographic Association (INCA) is being organised by the National Hydrographic Office (NHO), Dehradun from 09 to 11 Nov 22.  The INCA was founded in 1979 and has evolved into one of the largest organisations in the field of cartography with more than 3000 life and institutional members. The focal theme for the 42d INCA Congress is ‘Digital Cartography to Harness Blue Economy.

Ø इंडियन नेशनल कार्टोग्राफिक एसोसिएशन (आईएनसीए) की 42वीं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस का आयोजन नेशनल हाइड्रोग्राफिक ऑफिस (एनएचओ), देहरादून द्वारा 09 से 11 नवंबर 2022 तक किया जा रहा है। आईएनसीए की स्थापना वर्ष 1979 में हुई थी और यह कार्टोग्राफी के क्षेत्र में 3000 से अधिक आजीवन सदस्यों और संस्थागत सदस्यों के साथ सबसे बड़े संगठनों में से एक के रूप में कार्य कर रहा है। 42वीं आईएनसीए कांग्रेस का केंद्रीय विषय 'डिजिटल कार्टोग्राफी टू हार्नेस ब्लू इकोनॉमी' है। 

5.     World Science Day for Peace and Development was proclaimed by the UNESCO in 2001. It is celebrated every year on November 10, around the globe, marking the significance of science in society. World Science Day for Peace and Development aims to keep the general population informed of developments in science. Meanwhile, it also celebrates the role scientists play in the sustainable development of our planet. This year’s theme for World Science Day for Peace and Development is “Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development”.

Ø शांति और विकास के लिए विश्व विज्ञान दिवस वर्ष 2001 में यूनेस्को द्वारा घोषित किया गया था। यह प्रत्येक वर्ष 10 नवंबर को विश्व-भर में समाज में विज्ञान के महत्व को चिह्नित करते हुए मनाया जाता है। शांति और विकास के लिए विश्व विज्ञान दिवस का उद्देश्य आम जनता को विज्ञान के विकास से अवगत कराना है। इसके साथ ही, यह हमारे ग्रह के सतत विकास में वैज्ञानिकों की भूमिका को चिह्नित करने के लिए मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष शांति और विकास के लिए विश्व विज्ञान दिवस की थीम "सतत विकास के लिए आधारभूत विज्ञान" है।

6.     India is participating in 26th International Malabar Naval Exercise beginning in Yokosuka of Japan. Australia, Japan and the USA are also participating in the Malabar Naval Exercise. The naval forces of these countries will take part in the exercise till the 18th of next month. Indian Naval Ships Shivalik and Kamorta are ready to demonstrate at the event. The MALABAR exercise was initiated in 1992 between the navies of India and the United States.

Ø भारत, जापान के योकोसुका में प्रारम्भ हो रहे 26वें अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मालाबार नौसेना अभ्यास में भाग ले रहा है। मालाबार नौसेना अभ्यास में ऑस्ट्रेलिया, जापान और अमेरिका भी भाग ले रहे हैं। इन देशों के नौसैनिक बल अगले माह की 18 तारीख तक अभ्यास में भाग लेंगे। इस कार्यक्रम में भारतीय नौसेना के जहाज शिवालिक और कामोर्टा प्रदर्शन के लिए भाग ले रहे हैं। मालाबार अभ्यास, 1992 में भारत और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका की नौसेनाओं के बीच प्रारम्भ किया गया था।

7.     Kerala becomes the first state in India to launch uniform gold price based on the bank rate. The decision to introduce uniform price on 916 purity 22 carat gold has been taken at a meeting between officials of Malabar Gold and Diamonds, one of the largest golds and diamond retail chains in the country and key members of All Kerala Gold and Silver Merchants Association which sets the board rate for gold.

Ø केरल; भारत का पहला राज्य बन गया है, जिसने बैंक-दर के आधार पर सोने की एक समान मूल्य प्रारम्भ किया है। देश की सबसे बड़ी सोने और हीरे की खुदरा श्रृंखलाओं में से एक मालाबार गोल्ड एंड डायमंड्स के अधिकारियों और ऑल केरला गोल्ड एंड सिल्वर मर्चेंट्स एसोसिएशन के प्रमुख सदस्यों के बीच हुई बैठक में 916 शुद्धता वाले 22 कैरेट सोने पर एक समान मूल्य लगाने का निर्णय लिया गया। यह सोने के लिए बोर्ड-दर निर्धारित करता है।

8.   November 9 is celebrated as Uttarakhand State Foundation Day or Uttarakhand Divas every year. In 2016, the then Chief Minister Harish Rawat constituted the Uttarakhand Ratna, one of the two highest civilian awards of the state. On November 9, 2000, Uttarakhand became India’s 27th state, carved out of the hilly regions of undivided Uttar Pradesh. The formation of the state involved a long socio-political struggle— the first demands go back as far as the early 19th century, while Uttarakhand became an entity of its own only in the beginning of the 21st.

Ø प्रत्येक वर्ष 9 नवंबर को उत्तराखंड राज्य स्थापना दिवस या उत्तराखंड दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। 9 नवंबर, 2000 को, उत्तराखंड भारत का 27 वां राज्य बन गया था, जो अविभाजित उत्तर प्रदेश के पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों से बना है। राज्य के गठन में एक लंबा सामाजिक-राजनीतिक संघर्ष शामिल था, जिसके लिए  पहली मांग 19वीं सदी की शुरुआत से प्रारम्भ हुई और उत्तराखंड 21वीं सदी की प्रारम्भ में एक ईकाई बन गया। 2016 में, तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री हरीश रावत ने उत्तराखंड रत्न का गठन किया, जो राज्य के दो सर्वोच्च नागरिक पुरस्कारों में से एक है।

9. Vadodara became the second Indian city to issue a municipal bond with assistance from the US Treasury Department’s Office of Technical Assistance. The US Embassy and US Treasury officials joined counterparts from India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, the city of Vadodara, and the Securities and Exchange Board to celebrate the successful issuance of Vadodara’s first-ever municipal bond. The bond will provide funds for infrastructure projects in Vadodara. Pune was the first city to issue such a bond in 2017.

Ø वडोदरा; यूएस ट्रेजरी डिपार्टमेंट के ऑफिस ऑफ टेक्निकल असिस्टेंस की सहायता से म्युनिसिपल बॉन्ड जारी करने वाला दूसरा भारतीय शहर बन गया है। वडोदरा के पहले म्यूनिसिपल बॉन्ड के सफल रूप से जारी होने की सराहना करने के लिए अमेरिकी दूतावास और यूएस ट्रेजरी के अधिकारी भारत के आवास और शहरी विकास मंत्रालय, वडोदरा शहर और सिक्योरिटीज एंड एक्सचेंज बोर्ड के समकक्षों के साथ शामिल हुए। यह बांड, वडोदरा में आधारभूत ढांचा परियोजनाओं के लिए धन प्रदान करेगा। वर्ष 2017 में इस तरह का बांड जारी करने वाला पहला शहर पुणे था।

10. Google, an American technology giant, has launched a platform that displays flood forecasts, namely ‘FloodHub’. This platform shows the area and time where floods could occur, in order to inform people about the natural calamity and authorities can assist them with effectively. Google has also expanded its AI flood forecasting services to 18 counties across Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. These flood forecasting services supported by AI were first introduced in India back in 2018.

Ø गूगल, एक अमेरिकी प्रौद्योगिकी दिग्गज कंपनी, ने एक मंच लॉन्च किया है जो बाढ़ के पूर्वानुमान प्रदर्शित करता है और इसका नाम 'फ्लडहब' है। यह मंच लोगों को प्राकृतिक आपदा के बारे में सूचित करने के लिए उस क्षेत्र और समय को प्रदर्शित करता है जहां बाढ़ आ सकती है और इस तरह से अधिकारी प्रभावी ढंग से उनकी सहायता कर सकते हैं। गूगल ने लैटिन अमेरिका, अफ्रीका और दक्षिण पूर्व एशिया में 18 काउंटियों में अपनी एआई बाढ़ पूर्वानुमान सेवाओं का भी विस्तार किया है। एआई द्वारा समर्थित इन बाढ़ पूर्वानुमान सेवाओं को भारत में पहली बार वर्ष 2018 में प्रस्तुत किया गया था।
