1. University of Kerala bagged the ‘Overall Championship’ at Padma Tarang, the 36th Inter University South Zone Youth Festival that concluded on a colourful note at Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) in Tirupati. Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, came to the runners-up. Championships were awarded in each of the five categories viz., music, dance, fine arts, theatre and literary events.

Ø तिरुपति में श्री पद्मावती महिला विश्व विद्यालय (एसपीएमवीवी) में भव्य कार्यक्रम के साथ संपन्न हुए 36वें इंटर यूनिवर्सिटी साउथ जोन यूथ फेस्टिवल पद्म तरंग में केरल विश्वविद्यालय ने 'ओवरऑल चैंपियनशिप' का खिताब प्राप्त किया है। इस प्रतियोगिता में महात्मा गांधी विश्वविद्यालय, कोट्टायम उपविजेता रहा है। इस चैंपियनशिप के अंतर्गत पांच श्रेणियों; संगीत, नृत्य, ललित कला, रंगमंच और साहित्यिक कार्यक्रम में प्रत्येक श्रेणी में सम्मान प्रदान किया गया है।

2. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel celebrates the traditional Cherchera festival at Dudhadhari Math in the state capital Raipur. The traditional Cherchera festival is celebrated on the full moon night of ‘Paush’ Hindu calendar month in the happiness of taking the crops to their homes after cultivation. According to mythological belief, on this day Lord Shankar begged from Mata Annapurna, so people used to donate green vegetables along with paddy on this day.

Ø छत्तीसगढ़ के मुख्यमंत्री भूपेश बघेल ने राज्य की राजधानी रायपुर के दूधाधारी मठ में पारंपरिक चेरचेरा उत्सव मनाया है। पारंपरिक चेरचेरा उत्सव, हिंदू कैलेंडर माह 'पौष' की पूर्णिमा की रात को खेती करने के बाद फसलों को अपने घर ले जाने की खुशी में मनाया जाता है। पौराणिक मान्यता के अनुसार, इस दिन भगवान शंकर ने माता अन्नपूर्णा से भिक्षा मांगी थी, इसलिए लोग इस दिन धान के साथ हरी सब्जियों का दान करते थे।

3.The two-day Global Investors Summit is beginning in Indore.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the summit. The President of Suriname Chandrika Prasad Santokhi and the President of Guyana Dr Mohammed Irfan Ali will also attend the inaugural session. The theme of the Global Investors Summit is ‘Madhya Pradesh - a future-ready state'.  More than 500 prominent industrialists in the country will also participate in this summit. The Global Investors Summit will have 19 sessions on various topics. 

Ø दो दिवसीय ग्लोबल इन्वेस्टर्स समिट इंदौर में आयोजित हो रही है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी इस शिखर सम्मेलन का वर्चुअल माध्यम से उद्घाटन करेंगे। इस उद्घाटन सत्र में सूरीनाम के राष्ट्रपति चंद्रिका प्रसाद संतोखी और गुयाना के राष्ट्रपति डॉ मोहम्मद इरफान अली भी शामिल होंगे। ग्लोबल इन्वेस्टर्स समिट की थीम 'मध्य प्रदेश - भविष्य के लिए तैयार राज्य' है। इस शिखर सम्मेलन में देश के 500 से ज्यादा नामी उद्योगपति भी सहभाग करेंगे। ग्लोबल इन्वेस्टर्स समिट में विभिन्न विषयों पर 19 सत्र आयोजित किए जाएंगे।

4. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed an untethered multi-copter payload, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), capable of flying with 5 kg payload and even dropping bombs in enemy territories. The multi-copter was displayed by the DRDO at the 108th Indian Science Congress in Maharashtra's Nagpur. Successful trials of the multi-copter were conducted at Sikkim at an altitude of 14,000 ft. The product will be ready for induction in the Armed Forces after two remaining trials.

Ø रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने एक मानवरहित बहु-कॉप्टर पेलोड और मानव रहित हवाई वाहन (UAV) विकसित किया है, जो 5 किलो पेलोड के साथ उड़ान भरने और शत्रु-क्षेत्रों में बम गिराने में भी सक्षम है। महाराष्ट्र के नागपुर में 108वीं भारतीय विज्ञान कांग्रेस में DRDO द्वारा मल्टी-कॉप्टर प्रदर्शित किया गया था। सिक्किम में 14,000 फीट की ऊंचाई पर मल्टी-कॉप्टर का सफल परीक्षण किया गया है। दो शेष परीक्षणों के बाद यह उत्पाद सशस्त्र बलों में शामिल हो जाएगा।

5.     Indian Navy has inked an agreement with Sagar Defence Engineering Pvt. Ltd for acquiring armed autonomous boat swarms under the ‘SPRINT’ initiative, which aims to promote development and usage of indigenous defence technologies by domestic companies. This is the 50th contract that has been signed under ‘SPRINT’.  The SPRINT’ initiative was unveiled by PM Modi during Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO) seminar ‘Swavlamban’ in New Delhi in July 2022.

Ø भारतीय नौसेना ने 'स्प्रिंट' पहल; जिसका उद्देश्य घरेलू कंपनियों द्वारा स्वदेशी रक्षा प्रौद्योगिकियों के विकास और उपयोग को प्रोत्साहन देना है, के अंतर्गत सशस्त्र स्वायत्त नाव समूह प्राप्त करने के लिए सागर डिफेंस इंजीनियरिंग प्राइवेट लिमिटेड के साथ एक समझौता किया है। इस सन्दर्भ में यह 50वां अनुबंध है, जिसे 'स्प्रिंट' के अंतर्गत हस्ताक्षरित किया गया है। जुलाई 2022 में नई दिल्ली में नेवल इनोवेशन एंड स्वदेशीकरण संगठन (NIIO) सेमिनार 'स्वावलम्बन' के दौरान प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी द्वारा SPRINT' पहल का अनावरण किया गया था।

6.South Africa all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect. The all-rounder had made a total of 60 appearances for the Proteas across all formats, with the maximum being in the shorter format. Pretorius had featured in 30 T20Is, 27 ODIs, and 3 Tests, in which he amassed 1895 runs and scalped 77 wickets. Pretorius made his international debut back in 2016 and was part of the South Africa squad for the 2019 ODI World Cup and the 2021 T20 World Cup.

7.     Virat Kohli recorded the first century by an Indian in 2023 against Sri Lanka in the first One-Day International at the Baraspara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Kohli’s 45th ODI ton helped him equal Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most centuries at home in ODI cricket. While Tendulkar had 20 centuries in 160 innings at home, Kohli smashed his 20 ton in his 99th innings at home. Kohli also recorded his ninth ODI century against Sri Lanka.

Ø विराट कोहली ने गुवाहाटी के बारासपारा क्रिकेट स्टेडियम में पहले एक दिवसीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मैच में श्रीलंका के खिलाफ वर्ष 2023 में किसी भारतीय द्वारा पहला शतक दर्ज किया है। कोहली ने 45 वें एकदिवसीय शतक के साथ एकदिवसीय क्रिकेट में घरेलू स्टेडियम में सचिन तेंदुलकर के सर्वाधिक शतकों के रिकॉर्ड के बराबर पहुँच गए हैं। तेंदुलकर के घरेलू स्टेडियम में 160 पारियों में 20 शतक थे जबकि कोहली ने घरेलू स्टेडियम में अपनी 99वीं पारी में अपना 20वां शतक लगाया है। इसके साथ ही, कोहली ने श्रीलंका के विरुद्ध अपना नौवां एकदिवसीय शतक भी दर्ज किया है।

8.Techno-educationalist, Professor K.K. Abdul Gaffar’s autobiography, ‘Njaan Sakshi’ (me as the witness), was released by cricket legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni at a grand function organised in Kasaragod. Marwan Al Mulla, the CEO of Dubai Health Authority (DHA), received the first copy from Dhoni at a function that was held in the lawns of Taj Bekal. The legendary cricketer presented copies of the book to dignitaries including noted actor Tovino Thomas.

9.Former Chief Justice of India and member of the Rajya Sabha Ranjan Gogoi released a book 'Chief Minister's Diary No.1' containing the account of events of the first year in office of Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. His diary essentially featured the growth initiatives that the state has witnessed over the last 11 months. In the next four years, CM Sharma would bring out subsequent editions of his diary. CM Sharma also thanked former Chief Justice, India Ranjan Gogoi for releasing the book.

Ø भारत के पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश और राज्य सभा के सदस्य रंजन गोगोई ने असम के मुख्यमंत्री डॉ हिमंत बिस्वा सरमा के ‘कार्यालय में पहले वर्ष की घटनाओं का लेखा-जोखा’ रखने वाली एक पुस्तक 'मुख्यमंत्री की डायरी नंबर 1' का विमोचन किया है। उनकी डायरी में अनिवार्य रूप से पिछले 11 माह में राज्य के विकास की पहल को दर्शाया गया है। अगले चार वर्षों में, सीएम शर्मा अपनी डायरी के बाद के संस्करण जारी करेंगे। सीएम शर्मा ने किताब का विमोचन करने के लिए भारत के पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश रंजन गोगोई का धन्यवाद किया।

10.The 83rd All India Presiding Officers (Assembly Speakers) Conference begins today (January 11) in Jaipur. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar will inaugurate the two-day-long conference. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will preside over the conference. The session will focus on the Leadership of India in G-20 as the mother of democracy. This 83rd Conference of All India Presiding Officers is being held in Rajasthan after eleven years.  Earlier this conference was held in Rajasthan in the year 2011.

Ø 83वां अखिल भारतीय पीठासीन अधिकारी (विधानसभा अध्यक्ष) सम्मेलन जयपुर में जयपुर में आयोजित किया जा रहा है। उपराष्ट्रपति और राज्यसभा के सभापति जगदीप धनखड़ इस दो दिवसीय सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन करेंगे। लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ओम बिरला इस सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता करेंगे। यह सत्र लोकतंत्र की जननी के रूप में जी-20 में भारत के नेतृत्व पर केंद्रित होगा। अखिल भारतीय पीठासीन पदाधिकारियों का यह 83वां सम्मेलन 11 वर्ष बाद राजस्थान में आयोजित हो रहा है। इससे पूर्व यह सम्मेलन वर्ष 2011 में राजस्थान में आयोजित किया गया था।
