1.  US President Joe Biden has recognised Indian-American and a longtime Houstonian, Krishna Vavilala, with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement (PLA) Award, the nation's highest honour for his contributions to his community and the country at large. The Presidential Lifetime Achievement (PLA) Awards, led by AmeriCorps, is an annual event held to honour citizens, who exhibit outstanding character, worth ethic, and dedication to their communities.

2.  Bureau of Energy Efficiency, under Ministry of Power organised the “National Conclave on Accelerating Energy Efficiency in MSMEs”. Various cluster associations, MSME entrepreneurs and stakeholders discussed and gave inputs for successful implementation of energy efficiency programs in the MSME sector. The National Conclave will contribute to strengthening the operationalization and implementation of the current portfolio as well as a future program to scale up towards an inclusive and sustainable approach to energy efficiency in MSMEs.

3.  Sushmita Shukla, an Indian-origin veteran of the insurance industry, has been appointed as First Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, making her the second-ranking officer at the prominent institution. First Vice President, Shukla has an MBA from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mumbai.

4.  Young India batter Ishan Kishan raced away to a record-smashing knock in the third and final ODI match of the series against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram as he notched up a double century off just 126 balls. He became the seventh batter in the world to achieve the feat and fourth from India after Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Virender Sehwag.

5.  International Day of Neutrality is celebrated on December 12. It is a day when people look at the possibility of a world free of armed and other types of conflicts. Resolution for this day was introduced by Turkmenistan, which has been a neutral state since December 12, 1995. Marking the most historic day ever, UN General Assembly declared December 12 as the International Day of Neutrality on February 2, 2017.

Ø 12 दिसंबर को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय तटस्थता दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह एक ऐसा दिन है जब लोग सशस्त्र और अन्य प्रकार के संघर्षों से मुक्त विश्व की संभावना देखते हैं। इस दिन के लिए संकल्प प्रस्ताव तुर्कमेनिस्तान द्वारा प्रस्तुत किया गया था, जो 12 दिसंबर, 1995 से एक तटस्थ राज्य है। अब तक के सबसे ऐतिहासिक दिन को चिह्नित करते हुए, संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने 2 फरवरी, 2017 को 12 दिसंबर को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय तटस्थता दिवस के रूप में घोषित किया था।

6.  Tamilnadu state is set to achieve carbon neutrality much ahead of the national target of 2070. Tamilnadu is set to become the first state to launch its own Climate Change Mission. It had launched the Green Tamil Nadu Mission last September and the Tamil Nadu Wetlands Mission this August. A Special Purpose Vehicle--the Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company (TNGCC)--will implement the State Climate Action Plan.

Ø तमिलनाडु राज्य, वर्ष 2070 के राष्ट्रीय लक्ष्य से बहुत समय पहले कार्बन तटस्थता प्राप्त करने के लिए प्रयास कर रहा है। तमिलनाडु राज्य, अपना जलवायु परिवर्तन मिशन प्रारम्भ करने वाला पहला राज्य बनने जा रहा है। राज्य ने पिछले वर्ष सितम्बर में ग्रीन तमिलनाडु मिशन और इस वर्ष अगस्त में तमिलनाडु वेटलैंड्स मिशन लॉन्च किया था। एक विशेष प्रयोजन संस्था- तमिलनाडु ग्रीन क्लाइमेट कंपनी (TNGCC) - राज्य जलवायु कार्य योजना को लागू करेगी।

7.  Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan declared a seed farm, located in Aluva here, as the first carbon neutral farm in the country. A significant reduction in carbon emission has helped the seed farm, under the Agricultural Department, achieve the carbon neutral status. The total amount of carbon emission from the farm, located at Thuruthu in Aluva, in the last one year was 43 tons but its overall procurement was 213 ton.

Ø केरल के मुख्यमंत्री पिनाराई विजयन ने केरल राज्य के अलुवा में स्थित एक बीज फार्म को देश का पहला कार्बन न्यूट्रल फार्म घोषित किया है। कार्बन उत्सर्जन में महत्वपूर्ण कमी ने कृषि विभाग के अंतर्गत आने वाले बीज फार्म को कार्बन तटस्थ स्थिति प्राप्त करने में सहायता प्रदान की है। अलुवा के थुरुथु स्थित फार्म से पिछले एक वर्ष में कार्बन उत्सर्जन की कुल मात्रा 43 टन थी लेकिन इसकी कुल खरीद 213 टन थी।

8.  Senior Congress leader Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu took oath as the New Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh at a mega swearing-in ceremony held at historic ridge ground in Shimla. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also took oath with him. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath to both. Sukhu son of HRTC bus driver is a grassroots politician who has vast organizational experience in the hill state. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu a four-time MLA from Nadaun, was a former chief of Congress in the state and has been part of NSUI and Youth Congress.

9.  The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi flagged off Vande Bharat Express connecting Nagpur and Bilaspur from platform number 1 of the Nagpur Railway Station today. He also laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation various projects worth more than Rs 75,000 crores in Maharashtra today, including national rail projects worth more than Rs 1500 crores. Indian Railways are already running 5 Vande Bharat Express Trains.

Ø प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने नागपुर रेलवे स्टेशन के प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर 1 से नागपुर और बिलासपुर को जोड़ने वाली वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस को झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया है। उन्होंने महाराष्ट्र में 75,000 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की विभिन्न परियोजनाओं का शिलान्यास करते हुए राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया, जिसमें 1500 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की राष्ट्रीय रेल परियोजनाएं भी शामिल हैं। भारतीय रेलवे पहले से ही 5 वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनें चला रहा है।

10.             The first G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting is scheduled to be held during 13-15 December 2022 in Bengaluru. This meeting, which will mark the start of discussions on the Finance Track agenda under the Indian G20 Presidency, will be hosted jointly by the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India. The G20 Finance Track, led by Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of G20 countries, focuses on economic and financial issues. It provides an effective forum for global economic discourse and policy coordination. The First Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting will be held during 23-25 February 2023 in Bengaluru.
