1.The 18th edition of Indo - US joint training exercise “YUDH ABHYAS 22” is scheduled to be conducted in Uttarakhand this month. Exercise Yudh Abhyas is conducted annually between India and USA with the aim of exchanging best practices, Tactics, Techniques and Procedures between the Armies of the two nations. The previous edition of the exercise was conducted at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska (USA) in October 2021.

Ø भारत-अमरीका संयुक्त प्रशिक्षण “युद्धाभ्यास-22” के 18वें संस्करण का आयोजन इस माह उत्तराखंड में किया जाएगा। यह युद्धाभ्यास भारत और अमरीका की सेनाओं की उत्कृष्ट पद्धतियों, कौशलों, तकनीकों और प्रक्रियाओं का आदान-प्रदान करने के लिए वार्षिक रूप से आयोजित किया जाता है। युद्धाभ्यास के पिछले संस्करण का आयोजन अक्टूबर 2021 में अमरीका के अलास्का में ज्वाइंट बेस एलमेन्ड्राफ रिचर्डसन में किया गया था।

2.  India and Sweden hosted the LeadIT Summit, today, on the side-lines of COP27. The LeadIT (Leadership for Industry Transition) initiative focuses on low carbon transition. The Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) gathers countries and companies that are committed to action to achieve the Paris Agreement. It was launched by the governments of Sweden and India at the UN Climate Action Summit in September 2019 and is supported by the World Economic Forum.

Ø भारत और स्वीडन ने COP27 के साथ-साथ लीडआईटी शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी की है। लीडआईटी (लीडरशिप फॉर इंडस्ट्री ट्रांजिशन) पहल कम कार्बन संक्रमण पर केंद्रित है। द लीडरशिप ग्रुप फॉर इंडस्ट्री ट्रांजिशन (लीडआईटी) उन देशों और कंपनियों को एक साथ लाता है, जो पेरिस समझौते को प्राप्त करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं। इसे सितंबर 2019 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र जलवायु कार्रवाई शिखर सम्मेलन में स्वीडन और भारत की सरकारों द्वारा लॉन्च किया गया था और यह विश्व आर्थिक मंच द्वारा समर्थित है।

3.National Press Day is observed on 16th November every year to commemorate a free and responsible press. It was on this day that the Press Council of India started functioning as a moral watchdog to ensure that the press maintains high standards and is not fettered by any influence or threats. Since the year 1997, the Council has commemorated the day in a significant way through seminars with relevant themes.

Ø प्रत्येक वर्ष 16 नवंबर को एक स्वतंत्र और उत्तरदायी प्रेस को स्मरण करते हुए राष्ट्रीय प्रेस दिवस मनाया जाता है। इसी दिन प्रेस काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया ने यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एक नैतिक प्रहरी के रूप में कार्य करना प्रारम्भ किया था कि प्रेस; उच्च मानकों को बनाए रखे और किसी प्रभाव या खतरे से बंधन-मुक्त हो। वर्ष 1997 से, परिषद ने प्रासंगिक विषयों के साथ संगोष्ठियों के माध्यम से इस दिन को महत्वपूर्ण तरीके से मनाया है।

4. International Day for Tolerance is observed on November 16 to spread awareness about the importance of tolerance in society and to make people understand the negative effects of intolerance in our lives. The objective behind celebrating the day is to create public awareness of the dangers of intolerance. UNESCO created a prize for the promotion of tolerance and non-violence to mark the United Nations Year for Tolerance in 1995 and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi.

Ø समाज में सहिष्णुता के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाने और लोगों को हमारे जीवन में असहिष्णुता के नकारात्मक प्रभावों को समझने के लिए 16 नवंबर को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सहिष्णुता दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस दिवस को मनाने का उद्देश्य असहिष्णुता के खतरों के बारे में जन-जागरूकता पैदा करना है। यूनेस्को ने 1995 में सहिष्णुता के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र वर्ष और महात्मा गांधी के जन्म की 125 वीं वर्षगांठ को चिह्नित करने के लिए सहिष्णुता और अहिंसा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक पुरस्कार बनाया था।

5. The G20 Presidency of Indonesia, in partnership with the Pandemic Fund secretariat, officially launched the Pandemic Fund at a high-level event.  Speakers at the event welcomed the launch of the Pandemic Fund as a key part of the solution to reducing risks from epidemics and pandemics in the most vulnerable parts of the world and contributing to a healthier and safer world. Developed with Indonesia's and Italy's leadership during their respective G20 presidencies, the Pandemic Fund has USD 1.4 billion in seed funding already committed by 24 donors.

Ø महामारी कोष सचिवालय के साथ साझेदारी में इंडोनेशिया की जी-20 अध्यक्षता में एक उच्च स्तरीय कार्यक्रम में आधिकारिक तौर पर महामारी कोष प्रारम्भ किया गया है। इस कार्यक्रम में वक्ताओं ने विश्व के सबसे कमजोर हिस्सों में महामारी और महामारी से होने वाले जोखिम को कम करने और एक स्वस्थ और सुरक्षित विश्व में योगदान देने के समाधान के एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्से के रूप में महामारी कोष के लॉन्च का स्वागत किया है। G20 प्रेसीडेंसी के दौरान इंडोनेशिया और इटली के नेतृत्व के साथ विकसित इस महामारी कोष में 24 दानदाताओं द्वारा पहले से ही प्रतिबद्ध सीड फंडिंग में 1.4 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर उपलब्ध हैं।

6.   International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the venue for Under-19 Men's and Women's T-20 World cup. The 2024 Under -19 men’s T-20 World Cup will be hosted by Sri Lanka while the 2026 edition will be staged in Zimbabwe and Namibia. The 2025 Under -19 women’s T20 World Cup will be held in Malaysia and Thailand, and 2027 Under -19 women’s event will be jointly hosted by Bangladesh and Nepal.

Ø अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषद (आईसीसी) ने अंडर-19 पुरुष और महिला टी-20 वर्ल्ड कप के आयोजन स्थल की घोषणा की है। 2024 अंडर -19 पुरुष टी-20 विश्व कप की मेजबानी श्रीलंका द्वारा की जाएगी, जबकि 2026 संस्करण जिम्बाब्वे और नामीबिया में आयोजित किया जाएगा। 2025 अंडर -19 महिला टी20 विश्व कप मलेशिया और थाईलैंड में आयोजित किया जाएगा, और 2027 अंडर -19 महिला टूर्नामेंट बांग्लादेश और नेपाल द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से आयोजित किया जाएगा।

7. The 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has agreed to accept East Timor into the bloc. The country was granted observer status at ASEAN meetings, including summit plenaries, until it is formally inducted as 11th member. The nation of 1.34 million people declared independence from Indonesia in 2002 and applied for ASEAN membership in 2011.

Ø दक्षिण-पूर्व एशियाई देशों के 10 सदस्यीय संघ (आसियान) ने पूर्वी तिमोर को ब्लॉक में स्वीकार करने पर सहमति व्यक्त की है। 11वें सदस्य के रूप में औपचारिक रूप से शामिल होने तक देश को आसियान बैठकों में पर्यवेक्षक का दर्जा दिया गया था, जिसके अंतर्गत शिखर सम्मेलन भी शामिल है। 1.34 मिलियन लोगों वाले इस राष्ट्र ने 2002 में इंडोनेशिया से स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त की थी और 2011 में आसियान सदस्यता के लिए आवेदन किया था।

8.  Senior IAS Officer Gaurav Dwivedi has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati. The President has appointed Gaurav Dwivedi after due recommendation by the Selection Committee for a period of five years. Gaurav Dwivedi is 1995 batch IAS Officer of the Chattisgarh cadre.

Ø वरिष्ठ आईएएस अधिकारी गौरव द्विवेदी को प्रसार भारती का मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी नियुक्त किया गया है। राष्ट्रपति ने गौरव द्विवेदी को चयन समिति की उचित सिफारिश के बाद पांच वर्ष की अवधि के लिए नियुक्त किया है। गौरव द्विवेदी 1995 बैच के छत्तीसगढ़ कैडर के आईएएस अधिकारी हैं।

9.Government of India has decided tocelebrate November 15 as 'Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas' to mark the birth anniversary of Tribal Freedom Fighter "Birsa Munda" from year 2021 onwards, who was not only a freedom fighter but also social reformer and led tribal movement, namely Ulgulan (Revolt) against exploitative systems of British Colonial Govt. He is also known as Dharti Abba as he encouraged tribals to understand their cultural roots & observe unity.

Ø भारत सरकार ने वर्ष 2021 से आदिवासी स्वतंत्रता सेनानी "बिरसा मुंडा" की जयंती के उपलक्ष्य में 15 नवंबर को 'जनजातीय गौरव दिवस' के रूप में मनाने का निर्णय लिया था, जो न केवल एक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थे अपितु समाज सुधारक और ब्रिटिश औपनिवेशिक सरकार की शोषणकारी व्यवस्था के विरुद्ध आदिवासी आंदोलन उलगुलान (विद्रोह) का नेतृत्व भी कर रहे थे। उन्हें धरती अब्बा के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, क्योंकि उन्होंने आदिवासियों को अपनी सांस्कृतिक जड़ों को समझने और एकता का पालन करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया था।

10. Andhra Pradesh will celebrate the 55th National Library Week from 14 to November 20. Ayanki Venkataramaniah was the first to start the Library Week celebrations every year from November 14. The 55th National Library Week celebrations would also give impetus to the School Education Department’s ‘We Love Reading’ initiative. The inauguration of Library Week will also coincide with Children’s Day merriment on November 14. The state-level inaugural function will be organised from 10 am on Monday at the Tummalapalli Kalakshetra in Vijayawada.

Ø आंध्र प्रदेश 14 से 20 नवंबर तक 55वां राष्ट्रीय पुस्तकालय सप्ताह मनाएगा।  55वां राष्ट्रीय पुस्तकालय सप्ताह समारोह स्कूल शिक्षा विभाग की 'वी लव रीडिंग' पहल को भी गति प्रदान करेगा। लाइब्रेरी वीक का उद्घाटन 14 नवंबर को बाल दिवस के अवसर पर किया जाएगा। अयंकी वेंकटरमनैया प्रत्येक वर्ष 14 नवंबर से पुस्तकालय सप्ताह समारोह शुरू करने वाली पहली महिला हैं। इस राज्य स्तरीय उद्घाटन समारोह 14 नवंबर को सुबह 10 बजे से विजयवाड़ा के तुम्मलापल्ली कलाक्षेत्र में आयोजित किया गया।
