1.     The Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India (North), Institute of Hotel Management Srinagar and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), Darjeeling in a joint effort displayed a 7500 Sq. Ft Indian Tricolour at the bank of Dal Lake, Srinagar. This was as part of celebrating 75 years of Independence and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Ø पर्यटन मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार, होटल प्रबंधन संस्थान श्रीनगर और हिमालय पर्वतारोहण संस्थान (एचएमआई), दार्जिलिंग के एक संयुक्त प्रयास के द्वारा डल झील, श्रीनगर के तट पर 7500 वर्ग फीट के भारतीय तिरंगे का प्रदर्शन किया है। यह कार्यक्रम आजादी के 75 वर्ष पूरे होने और 'आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव' के अंतर्गत किया गया था

2.     World's highest single arch railway bridge Chenab Rail Bridge in J&K gets Golden Joint.In Jammu and Kashmir, the world’s highest rail bridge over the Chenab river in the Kouri area of Reasi district achieved another milestone on 13th August when the overarch deck of the bridge was completed with a golden joint.

Ø जम्मू-कश्मीर में विश्व का सबसे ऊंचा सिंगल आर्च रेलवे ब्रिज चिनाब रेल ब्रिज पर गोल्डन जॉइंट के साथ ही निर्माण कार्य पूरा हो गया है। जम्मू और कश्मीर में, रियास जिले के कौरी क्षेत्र में चिनाब नदी पर विश्व के सबसे ऊंचे रेल पुल ने 13 अगस्त को एक और मील का पत्थर हासिल किया जब पुल के ओवरआर्क डेक को एक गोल्डन जॉइंट के साथ पूरा किया गया।

3.     The Govt. of India approved an extension to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban up to December 31, 2024 so that the houses sanctioned under the scheme can be completed. It was launched in 2015 with the aim of constructing over 112 crore homes by August 15, 2022.

Ø सरकार भारत सरकार ने 31 दिसंबर, 2024 तक प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना-शहरी के विस्तार को स्वीकृति प्रदान कर दी है, जिससे कि योजना के अंतर्गत स्वीकृत घरों के निर्माण-कार्य को पूरा किया जा सके। इसे 2015 में; 15 अगस्त, 2022 तक 112 करोड़ से अधिक घरों के निर्माण के उद्देश्य से प्रारम्भ किया गया था।

4.     The nation is remembering Bharat Ratna, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his fourth death anniversary today. He passed away on this day in 2018. The govt. declared in 2014 that Vajpayee's birthday, 25 December, would be marked as Good Governance Day. In 2015, he was conferred India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, by the president of India, Pranab Mukherjee.

Ø भारत रत्न, पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी की चौथी पुण्यतिथि पर देश उन्हें याद कर रहा है। 16 अगस्त 2018 को उनका निधन हो गया था। भारत सरकार ने वर्ष 2014 में घोषणा किया कि वाजपेयी के जन्मदिन, 25 दिसंबर को सुशासन दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाएगा। 2015 में, उन्हें भारत के राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी द्वारा भारत के सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान, भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया था।

5.     President Smt Droupadi Murmu, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has approved 107 Gallantry awards to Armed Forces and CAPF personnel. These include three Kirti Chakra, 13 Shaurya Chakras, two Bar to Sena Medals (Gallantry), 81 Sena Medals (Gallantry), one Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry) and seven Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry).

Ø राष्ट्रपति श्रीमती द्रौपदी मुर्मू; जो सशस्त्र बलों की सर्वोच्च कमांडर भी हैं, ने सशस्त्र बलों और सीएपीएफ कर्मियों को 107 वीरता पुरस्कारों को स्वीकृति प्रदान की है। इनमें तीन कीर्ति चक्र, 13 शौर्य चक्र, दो 'बार से सेना' पदक (वीरता), 81 सेना पदक (वीरता), एक नौसेना पदक (वीरता) और सात वायु सेना पदक (वीरता) शामिल हैं।

6.     On the occasion of the nation's 76th year of Independence, celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the largest lender in the nation, State Bank of India (SBI), introduced a unique term deposit programme called "Utsav Deposit." This fixed deposit scheme has higher interest rates and is only available for a limited time.

Ø देश की आजादी के 76 वें वर्ष के अवसर पर, देश में सबसे बड़े ऋणदाता बैंक, भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई) ने "उत्सव जमा" नामक एक अद्वितीय सावधि जमा कार्यक्रम प्रारम्भ किया है। इस सावधि जमा योजना में उच्च ब्याज दरें हैं और यह सीमित समय के लिए उपलब्ध है।

7.     The 13th edition of IFFM began on August 12 and will conclude on August 30. The in-person event will be done by August 20, post which the festival will go on virtually for additional ten days. The IFFM Awards were recently announced. The show was hosted by popular TV actor Rithvik Dhanjiani and some of the biggest winners of the Sunday night award event included Ranveer Singh-starrer sports drama 83, and the acclaimed Amazon Prime series Mumbai Diaries 26/11.

8.     India unfurled the Indian flag about 30 kilometres above the planet on Independence Day. The flag was sent to an altitude of 1 lakh 6 thousand feet above the planet on a balloon that unfurled it. The event was part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav slogan and under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate the historic anniversary.

Ø भारत ने स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर पृथ्वी से लगभग 30 किलोमीटर ऊपर भारतीय ध्वज फहराया है। ध्वज को एक गुब्बारे के माध्यम से 1 लाख 6 हजार फीट की ऊंचाई पर भेजा गया था। यह कार्यक्रम 'आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव' और 'हर घर तिरंगा अभियान' के अंतर्गत आयोजित किया गया था।

9.     The Union government approved Biological E’s Corbevax as a precaution dose against COVID-19 for those above 18 who are fully vaccinated with either Covishield or Covaxin. The COVID-19 vaccine, however, has been awaiting emergency use listing (EUL) by the World Health Organization.

Ø केंद्र सरकार ने 18 वर्ष से अधिक आयु के ऐसे लोगों के लिए COVID-19 के विरुध्द पूर्वोपाय (एहतियाती) डोज के रूप में 'बायोलॉजिकल ई' के कॉर्बेवैक्स को स्वीकृति प्रदान कर दी है, जिन्हें कोविशील्ड या कोवैक्सिन का टीका पूरी तरह से लगाया जा चुका है। लेकिन, COVID-19 वैक्सीन को विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन द्वारा आपातकालीन उपयोग सूची (EUL) में मान्यता प्राप्त करने की प्रतीक्षा है।

10. India gifted a Dornier Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft to Sri Lanka towards strengthening the maritime security of the island nation at a special event in Sri Lanka Air Force Base in Katunayake. Navy and Air Force personnel of Sri Lanka who received training in India for close to four months shall operate the aircraft.

Ø भारत ने कटुनायके में श्रीलंका वायु सेना बेस पर राष्ट्रपति रानिल विक्रमसिंघे की उपस्थिति में एक विशेष कार्यक्रम के दौरान द्वीप राष्ट्र की समुद्री सुरक्षा को मजबूत करने के लिए एक डोर्नियर समुद्री टोही विमान उपहार में दिया है। श्रीलंका की नौसेना और वायु सेना के कर्मी, जिन्होंने भारत में करीब चार माह तक प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया है, वे इस विमान का संचालन करेंगे।
