Nation celebrates the 393rd birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, great Maratha ruler. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born on 19 February 1630 at Shivneri Fort in District Pune in the present-day state of Maharashtra.

In the Kashmir Valley, as part of Khelo India initiative, the Indian Army organised a Women's Snow Cricket tournament in Panzgam village of north Kashmir's Kupwara district. The event was a first-of-its-kind in Kupwara. 

Twelve cheetahs from South Africa will arrive at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. 12 Cheetahs include seven males and five females. The first group of eight Namibian cheetahs arrived at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh on September 17 last year under the ambitious Cheetah reintroduction program. 

The 49th meeting of the GST Council will be held in New Delhi. Chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the meeting is likely to discuss setting up appellate tribunals and mechanisms to curb tax evasion in pan masala and gutkha business.  

Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar has been appointed as the new Vice Chief of Army Staff. He is currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy) in the Army Headquarters. Lt Gen Kumar will succeed Lt Gen B S Raju who has been appointed as the Jaipur- headquartered South Western Army Commander.

Indian Overseas Bank has launched the facility of issuance of e-BG (Electronic Bank Guarantee) scheme in association with the National e-Governance Services Ltd. The e-BG is an instrument issued by the bank in which the bank undertakes to guarantee a specific amount against the non-fulfilment of some action/performance of the applicant.

The Indian Air Force has come out with an innovative solution that would help pilots to deal with bad weather and also provide them jammer-proof uninterrupted communication with the base station. Known as 'Vayulink', the data link communication uses the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) that is also known as NAVIC, to send radio communication to the base station when the signals are low.

Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) has signed an MoU with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for domestic manufacture and supply of its LORA Weapon System for the Indian Tri-services. LORA is a sea-to-ground and ground-to-ground system which comprises a long-range ballistic missile, a unique launcher, a command and control system, and a ground/marine support system. 

India's first "frozen-lake marathon" at Ladakh's Pangong Tso at a height of 13,862 feet will be held on February 20 and the army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have been roped in to implement a "proper action plan" for the event. 

The ‘Don’t Choose Extinction’ campaign, launched by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) to raise awareness about the climate emergency, has won Gold and Silver in two different categories at the 2nd Annual Anthem Awards. This was announced by The International Academy of Digital Arts & Science (IADAS), which was launched by the Webby Awards in 2021.
