1.INSV Tarini has set sail for an expedition to Cape Town, South Africa for participating in the 50th edition of Cape to Rio Race 2023. This ocean sailing race will be flagged off from Cape Town on 02 Jan 23 and will culminate at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The race is one of the most prestigious Trans-Atlantic Ocean races. The expedition is being undertaken by an Indian Navy crew of five officers including two women officers.

Ø INSV तारिणी को केप टू रियो रेस 2023 के 50वें संस्करण में भाग लेने के लिए केप टाउन, दक्षिण अफ्रीका के लिए एक अभियान के लिए रवाना किया गया है। इस महासागर नौकायन दौड़ को केप टाउन से 02 जनवरी 2023 को हरी झंडी दिखाई जाएगी और इसका समापन रियो डी जनेरियो, ब्राजील में होगा। यह दौड़, सबसे प्रतिष्ठित ट्रांस-अटलांटिक महासागर दौड़ में से एक है। यह अभियान दो महिला अधिकारियों सहित पांच अधिकारियों के एक भारतीय नौसेना दल द्वारा चलाया जा रहा है।

2.Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari launched one of India’s first-ever Surety Bond Insurance product from Bajaj Allianz. Surety Bond Insurance will act as a security arrangement for infrastructure projects and will insulate the contractor as well as the principal. The product will cater to the requirements of a diversified group of contractors, many of whom are operating in today’s increasingly volatile environment.

Ø केंद्रीय सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्री श्री नितिन गडकरी ने बजाज आलियांज से भारत का पहला ज़मानती बांड बीमा उत्पाद लॉन्च किया है। ज़मानती बांड बीमा, आधारभूत  ढांचा परियोजनाओं के लिए एक सुरक्षा व्यवस्था के रूप में कार्य करेगा और संविदाकार के साथ-साथ मुख्य-व्यक्ति को भी पृथक करेगा। यह उत्पाद , संविदाकार के एक विविध समूह की आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करेगा, जिनमें से कई आज के तेजी से अस्थिर वातावरण में काम कर रहे हैं।

3.Sonakshi Sinha has been awarded PETA India's 2022 Person of the Year title. PETA stands for People for Ethical Treatment of Animals in India. The international animal rights non-profit group endorsed the title and celebrated the actions of the actress for saving animal lives in India. PETA India, based in Mumbai, was launched in January 2000.

Ø सोनाक्षी सिन्हा को पेटा इंडिया के 2022 पर्सन ऑफ द ईयर की उपाधि दी गई है। PETA से तात्पर्य है- पीपल फॉर एथिकल ट्रीटमेंट ऑफ एनिमल्स इन इंडिया है। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पशु अधिकार गैर-लाभकारी समूह ने इस उपाधि का समर्थन किया और भारत में जानवरों के जीवन को बचाने के लिए अभिनेत्री के कार्यों की सराहना की है। पेटा इंडिया, मुंबई में स्थित है, जिसे जनवरी 2000 में लॉन्च किया गया था।

4.Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India, has been appointed as the Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Vadodara, by Hon’ble President Smt. Draupadi Murmu. It is noteworthy to mention that Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw will be the first Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya. Hon’ble President has appointed Dr Manoj Chaudhary as the first Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti University, Vadodara.

Ø अश्विनी वैष्णव, माननीय रेल मंत्री, संचार, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी, भारत सरकार को माननीय राष्ट्रपति श्रीमती द्रौपदी मुर्मू द्वारा गति शक्ति विश्वविद्यालय, वडोदरा के कुलाधिपति के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। ध्यातव्य  है कि श्री अश्विनी वैष्णव गति शक्ति विश्वविद्यालय के पहले कुलाधिपति होंगे। माननीय राष्ट्रपति ने डॉ मनोज चौधरी को गति शक्ति विश्वविद्यालय, वडोदरा का पहला कुलपति नियुक्त किया है।

5.Union Minister for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh revealed that India had jumped from 7th to 3rd in global scientific publications and scholarly output, according to a report by America’s National Science Foundation.  India also ranks third globally in the number of PhDs produced annually. In a similar upward trend, the number of patents granted by the India Patents Office to Indian scientists has more than doubled in just the last four years.

Ø अमेरिका के नेशनल साइंस फाउंडेशन की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, केंद्रीय विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री जितेंद्र सिंह ने जानकारी दिया है कि भारत वैश्विक वैज्ञानिक प्रकाशनों और विद्वानों के उत्पादन में 7वें से तीसरे स्थान पर पहुंच गया है। वार्षिक रूप से पीएचडी की संख्या में भी भारत विश्व स्तर पर तीसरे स्थान पर है। इसी तरह की वृद्धि की प्रवृत्ति में, भारत पेटेंट कार्यालय द्वारा भारतीय वैज्ञानिकों को दिए गए पेटेंट की संख्या पिछले चार वर्षों में दोगुनी से अधिक हो गई है।

6.Harvard University announced that Claudine Gay will become its 30th president, making her the first Black person and the second woman to lead the Ivy League school. Claudine Gay, who is currently a dean at the university and a democracy scholar, will become president on 1 July. She replaces Lawrence Bacow. Claudine Gay is regarded as a leading voice on the issue of American political participation.

Ø हार्वर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी ने घोषणा की है कि क्लॉडाइन गे इसकी 30वीं अध्यक्ष बनेंगी, जिससे वह आइवी लीग स्कूल का नेतृत्व करने वाली पहली अश्वेत व्यक्ति और दूसरी महिला बन जाएंगी। क्लॉडाइन गे, जो वर्तमान में विश्वविद्यालय में डीन हैं और लोकतंत्र विषय की विद्वान हैं, 1 जुलाई को अध्यक्ष बनेंगी। वह लॉरेंस बेको का स्थान ले रही हैं। क्लॉडाइन गे को अमेरिकी राजनीतिक भागीदारी के मुद्दे पर एक प्रमुख आवाज के रूप में माना जाता है।

7.Goa is marking its 60th Liberation Day on 19th December. Goa had been an important port for trade as well as military operations of the Portuguese, who ruled the region for over four and a half centuries. In 1961, Indian Armed Forces were sent by then PM Jawaharlal Nehru, post which the Portuguese rulers surrendered and liberated Goa on December 19, 1961.

Ø गोवा 19 दिसंबर को अपना 60वां मुक्ति दिवस मना रहा है। गोवा; व्यापार के साथ-साथ पुर्तगालियों के सैन्य अभियानों के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण बंदरगाह था, जिन्होंने साढ़े चार शताब्दियों तक इस क्षेत्र पर शासन किया था। 18 जून को राज्य में गोवा क्रांति दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। वर्ष 1961 में भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों को तत्कालीन पीएम जवाहरलाल नेहरू द्वारा भेजा गया था, जिसके बाद पुर्तगाली शासकों ने आत्मसमर्पण कर दिया और 19 दिसंबर, 1961 को गोवा को मुक्त कर दिया था।

8. Sargam Kaushal represented India and was elected Mrs. World in Las Vegas on December 18, 2022. Mrs Kaushal defeated competitors from 63 nations to reclaim the crown for India after 21 years. Mrs World began in 1984 and is descended from the Mrs. America contest. This contest was formerly known as Mrs. Woman of the World. Mrs. World title was only given the name in 1988. India has only earned the title of Mrs. World once, in 2001.

Ø सरगम कौशल ने भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया और 18 दिसंबर, 2022 को लास वेगास में मिसेज वर्ल्ड चुनी गईं। श्रीमती कौशल ने 63 देशों के प्रतियोगियों को हराकर 21 साल बाद भारत के लिए ताज हासिल किया। मिसेज वर्ल्ड 1984 में शुरू हुआ और मिसेज अमेरिका प्रतियोगिता से निकला है। इस प्रतियोगिता को पहले मिसेज वुमन ऑफ द वर्ल्ड के नाम से जाना जाता था। मिसेज वर्ल्ड का खिताब केवल 1988 में नाम दिया गया था। भारत ने केवल एक बार 2001 में मिसेज वर्ल्ड का खिताब अर्जित किया है।

9.The United Nations has passed a resolution declaring the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets (IYM). To raise awareness about the importance of millet, the Agriculture Ministry is hosting a Millet food festival in Parliament for the members.  The IYM 2023 and the push towards increasing millet production will also contribute to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As the global agri-food systems face challenges to feed an ever-growing global population, resilient cereals like millet provide an affordable and nutritious option.

Ø संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने वर्ष 2023 को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाजरा वर्ष (IYM) घोषित करते हुए एक प्रस्ताव पारित किया है। बाजरा के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए, कृषि मंत्रालय सदस्यों के लिए संसद में बाजरा भोजन उत्सव आयोजित कर रहा है। IYM 2023 और बाजरा उत्पादन बढ़ाने की दिशा में सतत विकास के लिए 2030 एजेंडा में भी योगदान देगा। वैश्विक कृषि खाद्य प्रणालियों को लगातार बढ़ती वैश्विक आबादी को भोजन प्रदान करने के लिए चुनौतियों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है और ऐसे में बाजरा जैसे लचीले अनाज एक किफायती और पौष्टिक विकल्प प्रदान करते हैं।

10.To celebrate the ideal of unity in diversity, International Human Solidarity Day (IHSD) is observed annually on December 20. The day focuses on achieving Sustainable Development Goals such as poverty eradication, eradication of hunger etc. The basic objective is to promote equality, social justice and cooperation with societies and people. The theme for International Human Solidarity Day remains unchanged. Its sole objective is to promote cultural equality and social justice to bring social development into developing countries.

Ø विविधता में एकता के आदर्श के प्रसार के लिए, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानव एकता दिवस (IHSD) प्रतिवर्ष 20 दिसंबर को मनाया जाता है। यह दिन सतत विकास लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त करने पर केंद्रित है जैसे कि गरीबी उन्मूलन, भूख उन्मूलन आदि। इसका मूल उद्देश्य समानता, सामाजिक न्याय और समाजों और लोगों के साथ सहयोग को प्रोत्साहन देना है। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानव एकता दिवस की थीम अपरिवर्तित बनी हुई है। इसका एकमात्र उद्देश्य विकासशील देशों में सामाजिक विकास लाने के लिए सांस्कृतिक समानता और सामाजिक न्याय को प्रोत्साहन देना है।
