1.Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), in the presence of the UN Secretary General António Guterres, at the Statue of Unity, Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. First proposed by the Prime Minister at COP 26, Mission LiFE is envisioned as an India-led global mass movement that will nudge individual and collective action to protect and preserve the environment. The concept of LiFE was introduced by the Prime Minister at COP26 at Glasgow on 1 November 2021. On 5 June 2022, on World Environment Day, India furthered the vision of LiFE by launching the LiFE Global Movement, inviting academicians, researchers and start-ups across the world to think about specific and scientific ways in which the full potential of collective action can be harnessed to address the environment crisis. The movement received record support from global leaders.

Ø  प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने गुजरात के एकता नगर में स्टैच्यू ऑफ यूनिटी के निकट संयुक्त राष्ट्र के महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस की उपस्थिति में मिशन लाइफ (पर्यावरण के लिए जीवन शैली) का शुभारंभ किया। सीओपी 26 में प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा पहली बार प्रस्तावित मिशन लाइफ को भारत के नेतृत्व वाले वैश्विक जन आंदोलन के रूप में देखा जा रहा है। इससे पर्यावरण की सुरक्षा और संरक्षण के लिए व्यक्तिगत और सामूहिक कार्रवाई की प्रेरणा मिलेगी। लाइफ की अवधारणा को प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा 1 नवंबर 2021 को ग्लासगो में सीओपी-26 में प्रस्तुत किया गया था। 5 जून 2022 को विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस पर भारत ने शिक्षाविदों, शोधकर्ताओं और स्टार्ट-अप को आमंत्रित करते हुए, लाइफ ग्लोबल मूवमेंट प्रारम्भ करके लाइफ की परिकल्पना को आगे बढ़ाया था।

2. International Chefs Day is celebrated on October 20. International Chefs Day was initiated in 2004. It was created by the late Dr. Billy Gallagher, a renowned chef and businessman, who was the President of the South African Chefs Association for 21 years. Dr Gallagher also became the President of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) in 1996.

3. Paytm Payments bank has appointed Deependra Singh Rathore as the interim chief executive officer (CEO), in addition to his role as chief product & technology officer. It will announce the name of the new full-time CEO after receiving regulatory approvals. Satish Gupta, who was the bank's CEO, is set to retire in October.

4. AI-driven financial wellness platform, CASHe, announced that it has partnered with Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), to provide a ’travel now pay later’ (TNPL) payment option on its travel app, IRCTC Rail Connect. This will enable travellers of Indian Railways to book their rail tickets instantly and pay for it later in pocket-friendly EMIs, ranging from three to six months. With CASHe’s payment option, booking and paying for rail tickets on the IRCTC travel app will now be easier and hassle-free for millions of Indian Railway passengers.

5. European telecom gear makers Nokia and Ericsson have inked multi-year supply contracts with Reliance Jio for supplying 5G network equipment to the country's largest carrier for deploying standalone or 5G SA. Finnish supplier Nokia said it will provide 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment from its AirScale portfolio including base stations, high-capacity 5G Massive MIMO antennas, and Remote Radio Heads (RRH) to support different spectrum bands, and self-organizing network software.

6. Life Insurance Corporation of India has launched a new life insurance plan dubbed Dhan Varsha. Dhan Varsha is a close-ended plan. LIC’s Dhan Varsha is a non-linked, non-participating, individual, savings, single premium life insurance plan which offers a combination of protection and savings. If the life assured unfortunately passes away during the policy term, this plan will give cash support for the family. On the date of maturity, it also offers a guaranteed lump payment amount for the remaining assured life.

Ø  भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम ने धन वर्षा नामक एक नई जीवन बीमा योजना प्रारम्भ की है। धन वर्षा एक क्लोज-एंडेड योजना है। एलआईसी की धन वर्षा एक गैर-लिंक्ड, गैर-भाग लेने वाली, व्यक्तिगत, बचत, एकल प्रीमियम जीवन बीमा योजना है, जो सुरक्षा और बचत का संयोजन प्रदान करती है। यदि जीवन बीमाधारक दुर्भाग्य से पॉलिसी अवधि के दौरान गुजर जाता है, तो यह योजना परिवार के लिए नकद सहायता देगी। मैच्योरिटी की तिथि पर, यह शेष सुनिश्चित जीवन के लिए गारंटी-युक्त एकमुश्त भुगतान राशि भी प्रदान करता है।

7. October 21 commemorates the sacrifices of ten CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. On October 21, 1959, ten Indian policemen were killed during an attack by Chinese troops in the Hot Springs region close to Ladakh after an argument between the troops. This incident started on October 20, 1959, when the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was in charge of patrolling the 2,600-mile border between India and Tibet. Three units of the CRPF’s 3rd Battalion were dispatched on separate patrols to a location known as Hot Springs to keep an eye on the Indo-China border in North Eastern Ladakh.

8. The Ministry of Railways announced the closure of the Central Organisation for Modernisation of Workshops (COFMOW), New Delhi, with effect from December 1, 2022. Keeping in line with the recommendations of the Principal Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, on the rationalisation of government bodies, the Railway Board confirmed the winding up of the four-decade old organisation that contributed significantly towards the modernisation of workshops across the railway network, sources in the Railways said. Since its inception in 1979, the COFMOW successfully helped in the modernisation of Production Units and Workshops across the Indian Railways.

Ø  रेल मंत्रालय ने कार्यशालाओं के आधुनिकीकरण के लिए केंद्रीय संगठन (COFMOW), नई दिल्ली को 1 दिसंबर, 2022 से बंद करने की घोषणा की है। सरकारी निकायों के युक्तिकरण पर वित्त मंत्रालय के प्रधान आर्थिक सलाहकार की सिफारिशों के अनुरूप, रेलवे बोर्ड ने चार दशक पुराने संगठन को बंद करने का निर्णय लिया है। इस संगठन ने पूरे रेलवे नेटवर्क में कार्यशालाओं के आधुनिकीकरण में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है। 1979 में अपनी स्थापना के बाद से, COFMOW ने भारतीय रेलवे में उत्पादन इकाइयों और कार्यशालाओं के आधुनिकीकरण में सफलतापूर्वक सहायता की है।

9. Indian Space Research Organisation plans to launch Chandrayaan-3, its third mission to the moon, in June next year. The space agency has also lined up the first test flight of the 'abort mission' for Gaganyaan, the country's first human spaceflight, early next year. ISRO Chairman S Somnath said that Chandrayaan-3 (C-3) launch will be in June next year onboard the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3). ISRO plans to fly Indian astronauts into orbit by the end of 2024. India's maiden attempt to land a rover on the moon ended in failure after the Vikram lander onboard the Chandrayaan-2 mission crashed on the surface of the moon in September 2019.

Ø  भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन अगले वर्ष जून में चंद्रमा पर अपना तीसरा मिशन चंद्रयान -3 लॉन्च करने जा रहा है। अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी ने अगले वर्ष के प्रारम्भ  में देश के पहले मानव अंतरिक्ष यान गगनयान के लिए 'एबॉर्ट मिशन' की पहली परीक्षण उड़ान की तैयारी कर रहा है। इसरो के अध्यक्ष एस सोमनाथ ने कहा है कि चंद्रयान -3 (सी -3) का प्रक्षेपण अगले वर्ष जून में लॉन्च व्हीकल मार्क -3 (एलवीएम 3) से होगा। इसरो की योजना 2024 के अंत तक भारतीय अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों को कक्षा में ले जाने की है। सितंबर 2019 में चंद्रयान -2 मिशन पर विक्रम लैंडर के चंद्रमा की सतह पर दुर्घटनाग्रस्त होने के बाद चंद्रमा पर रोवर उतारने का भारत का पहला प्रयास विफल हो गया था।
