1.     India has improved its position by six slots and is now placed at 61st rank as per the Network Readiness Index 2022 (NRI 2022) report released recently. In its latest version of 2022, the NRI Report maps the network-based readiness landscape of 131 economies based on their performances in four different pillars: Technology, People, Governance, and Impact covering a total of 58 variables. The report has been prepared by the Portulans Institute, an independent non-profit, nonpartisan research and educational institute based in Washington DC.

2.Indian Administrative Servant (IAS) from Punjab cadre, Arun Goel today assumed charge as the new Election Commissioner (EC) of India. Rajiv Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner of India, who is currently in Nepal as International Observer for their ongoing national elections, congratulated Goel on his new appointment. Goel from 1985 batch of Punjab cadre is a post-graduate in Development Economics from Churchill College, University of Cambridge, England with Distinction. He also holds M.Sc. Mathematics.

Ø पंजाब कैडर के भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवक (आईएएस) अरुण गोयल ने भारत के नए चुनाव आयुक्त (ईसी) के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण किया है। राजीव कुमार; जो भारत के मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त हैं और वर्तमान में नेपाल में चल रहे राष्ट्रीय चुनावों के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पर्यवेक्षक के रूप में कार्यरत हैं, ने गोयल को उनकी नई नियुक्ति पर बधाई दी है। पंजाब कैडर के 1985 बैच के अरुण गोयल चर्चिल कॉलेज, कैंब्रिज विश्वविद्यालय, इंग्लैंड से डिस्टिंक्शन के साथ डेवलपमेंट इकोनॉमिक्स में पोस्ट-ग्रेजुएट हैं। उन्होंने गणित विषय में एम.एससी भी किया है।

3.India today assumed the Chair of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), an international initiative to support responsible and human-centric development and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). GPAI is a congregation of 25 member countries, including the US, the UK, EU, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, and Singapore. India had in 2020 joined the group as a founding member.

Ø भारत ने आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस पर ग्लोबल पार्टनरशिप (GPAI) की अध्यक्षता ग्रहण की है, जो उत्तरदायी और मानव-केंद्रित विकास और आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (AI) के उपयोग का समर्थन करने के लिए एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पहल है। GPAI अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन, यूरोपीय संघ, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, कनाडा, फ्रांस, जर्मनी, इटली, जापान, मैक्सिको, न्यूजीलैंड, कोरिया गणराज्य और सिंगापुर सहित 25 सदस्य देशों का एक समूह है। भारत, वर्ष 2020 में एक संस्थापक सदस्य के रूप में समूह में शामिल हुआ था।

4.World Fisheries Day, celebrated on November 21, is dedicated to highlighting the critical importance of healthy ocean ecosystems and to ensure sustainable stocks of fisheries in the world. Fishing communities celebrate this day through rallies, workshops, public meetings, cultural dramas, exhibitions, and music shows.  This day demonstrate the importance of maintaining the fisheries of the world along with highlighting the problems like overfishing and mechanization.

5.Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev secured a second term in Sunday's snap election, winning 81.31% of the vote, the central Asian nation's Central Election Commission, citing preliminary data. He had been widely expected to extend his rule over the oil-rich nation by seven more years, with a strong mandate to continue his increasingly independent foreign policy, as the former Soviet republic navigates the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

Ø मध्य एशियाई राष्ट्र कजाखस्तान के केंद्रीय चुनाव आयोग ने प्रारंभिक आंकड़ों में यह बताया है कि कजाख राष्ट्रपति कासिम-जोमार्ट टोकायव ने चुनाव में 81.31% वोट प्राप्त करके दूसरा कार्यकाल हासिल किया है। कासिम-जोमार्ट से पूर्व सोवियत गणतंत्र रूस-यूक्रेन संकट को नेविगेट करने के रूप में अपनी तेजी से स्वतंत्र विदेश नीति को जारी रखने के लिए एक मजबूत जनादेश के साथ तेल-समृद्ध राष्ट्र पर अपने शासन को सात और वर्षों तक व्यापक रूप से विस्तारित करने की अपेक्षा की गई है।

6. The World Heritage Week in 2022 will be held between November 19 and November 25. The World Heritage Week celebration aims to raise awareness about traditional and cultural practices. UNESCO and several other international organisations observe World Heritage Week. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) also observes World Heritage Week. The designation of a World Heritage Site demonstrates that a location is culturally sensitive and requires legal protection.

Ø विश्व धरोहर सप्ताह 2022, 19 नवंबर से 25 नवंबर के बीच आयोजित किया जाएगा। विश्व विरासत सप्ताह समारोह का उद्देश्य पारंपरिक और सांस्कृतिक प्रथाओं के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना है। यूनेस्को और कई अन्य अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगठन विश्व धरोहर सप्ताह को मनाते हैं। भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण (एएसआई) भी विश्व धरोहर सप्ताह मनाता है। विश्व धरोहर स्थल का पदनाम दर्शाता है कि एक स्थान सांस्कृतिक रूप से संवेदनशील है और इसे कानूनी सुरक्षा की आवश्यकता है।

7.The 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) honoured Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi with the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award. The Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur announced the news at the IFFI opening ceremony. In his more than 40-year-long career, Chiranjeevi has starred in more than 150 feature films in Telugu, as well as some in Hindi, Tamil and Kannada. He served as the Minister of Culture & Tourism of India from October 2012 to May 2014.

Ø इंटरनेशनल फिल्म फेस्टिवल ऑफ इंडिया (IFFI) के 53वें संस्करण में तेलुगू सुपरस्टार चिरंजीवी को इंडियन फिल्म पर्सनैलिटी ऑफ द ईयर अवॉर्ड से सम्मानित किया गयाहै है। केंद्रीय सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्री अनुराग ठाकुर ने आईएफएफआई के उद्घाटन समारोह में इसकी घोषणा की है।अपने 40 से अधिक वर्षों के लंबे करियर में, चिरंजीवी ने तेलुगु में 150 से अधिक फीचर फिल्मों के साथ-साथ कुछ हिंदी, तमिल और कन्नड़ में अभिनय किया है। उन्होंने अक्टूबर 2012 से मई 2014 तक भारत के संस्कृति और पर्यटन मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया था।

8. The Maharashtra Government has decided to double the pension of freedom fighters from ten thousand to twenty thousand rupees per month. Accordingly, freedom fighters associated with India’s freedom struggle, Marathwada Mukti Sangram and Goa Liberation Movement will benefit from this decision. The state government is likely to incur an additional expense of 74.75 crore rupees due to this decision.

Ø महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की पेंशन को दस हजार से दोगुना करके बीस हजार रुपये प्रति माह करने का निर्णय लिया है। इसलिए, इस निर्णय से भारत के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम, मराठवाड़ा मुक्ति संग्राम और गोवा मुक्ति आंदोलन से जुड़े स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को लाभ होगा। इस निर्णय से राज्य सरकार को 74.75 करोड़ रुपये का अतिरिक्त व्यय होने की संभावना है।

9. The 14th Dalai Lama was conferred the Gandhi Mandela Award 2022 at Thekchen Choeling in Dharamshala’s McleodGanj by Himachal Pradesh governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. A government of India registered Trust, the Gandhi Mandela Foundation is a non-profit organisation, formed with the motive to promote Mahatma Gandhi’s and former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela’s values of non-violence. It has constituted an international prize, the Gandhi Mandela Award.

Ø 14 वें दलाई लामा को हिमाचल प्रदेश के राज्यपाल राजेंद्र विश्वनाथ अर्लेकर द्वारा धर्मशाला के मैकलोडगंज में थेकचेन छोएलिंग में गांधी मंडेला पुरस्कार 2022 से सम्मानित किया गया है। भारत सरकार द्वारा पंजीकृत ट्रस्ट, गांधी मंडेला फाउंडेशन एक गैर-लाभकारी संगठन है, जिसका गठन महात्मा गांधी और दक्षिण अफ्रीका के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति नेल्सन मंडेला के अहिंसा के मूल्यों को प्रोत्साहन देने के उद्देश्य से किया गया है। इस संस्था ने एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार, गांधी मंडेला पुरस्कार का गठन किया है।

10.  Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda has said the government has decided to set up 100 archery academies in the country to promote talent amongst tribal children by nurturing their archery skills. The Ministry is continuously working for enhancing educational and health facilities and also focusing on generating employment in the tribal areas. The government is setting up Eklavya Model Residential School and implementing ‘Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojna which aims at mitigating gaps and providing basic infrastructure in villages with significant tribal population.

Ø केंद्रीय जनजातीय मामलों के मंत्री अर्जुन मुंडा अनुसार सरकार ने तीरंदाजी कौशल का पोषण करके आदिवासी बच्चों में प्रतिभा को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए देश में 100 तीरंदाजी अकादमी स्थापित करने का निर्णय लिया है। मंत्रालय शैक्षिक और स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं को बढ़ाने के लिए लगातार कार्य कर रहा है और आदिवासी क्षेत्रों में रोजगार सृजित करने पर भी ध्यान केंद्रित कर रहा है। इसके साथ ही सरकार एकलव्य मॉडल आवासीय विद्यालय की स्थापना कर रही है और 'प्रधानमंत्री आदि आदर्श ग्राम योजना' को लागू कर रही है, जिसका उद्देश्य महत्वपूर्ण जनजातीय आबादी वाले गांवों में अंतराल को कम करना और आधारभूत ढांचा प्रदान करना है।
