Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' bagged the Dadasaheb International Film Festival Awards and SS Rajamouli's 'RRR’ received the International Film of the Year. The grand celebration of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) 2023 took place in Mumbai.

The 76th British Academy Film Awards, BAFTA Awards, were announced at an event held in London’s Royal Festival Hall. ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’, a German anti-war drama which is a screen adaptation of the 1928 novel by Erich Maria Remarque, won a maximum of seven awards, including Best Film and Director.

Indian educationist and social worker for the promotion of indigenous languages in Odisha Dr. Mahendra Kumar Mishra was conferred the International Mother Language Award by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka.  Dr. Mishra is the first Indian to receive this award.

After the world's highest altitude was destroyed due to hurricane-force winds on Mount Everest, a team of scientists and Sherpa have again placed its new version atop Mount Everest. The group has been led by a 31-year-old electrician and mountain guide Tenzing Gyalzen Sherpa.
