1.The next edition of the Indian wind industry’s biennial exhibition-cum-conference, Windergy, is to be held between October 4 and 6 of next year in Chennai. The event will be held at the Chennai Trade Center.  After a dismal 1,110 MW of new capacity installations in 2021-22, things are looking up in the industry. After reaching a peak of 5,502 MW in 2016-17, installations have fallen due to various reasons (see table). Today, wind power plants account for 10 per cent of total installed electricity capacity in the country and 5 per cent of energy generation.

Ø  भारतीय पवन उद्योग की द्विवार्षिक प्रदर्शनी-सह-सम्मेलन, विंडर्जी का अगला संस्करण अगले वर्ष के 4 से 6 अक्टूबर के बीच चेन्नई में आयोजित किया जाना है।  यह कार्यक्रम चेन्नई ट्रेड सेंटर में होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि 2021-22 में 1,110 मेगावाट की नई क्षमता वाले प्रतिष्ठानों के निराशाजनक होने के बाद, उद्योग में पुनः संभावनाएं दिख रही हैं। 2016-17 में 5,502 मेगावाट के शिखर पर पहुंचने के बाद, विभिन्न कारणों से स्थापना-प्रक्रिया में गिरावट आई है। वर्तमान में पवन ऊर्जा संयंत्रों की देश में कुल स्थापित बिजली क्षमता का 10 प्रतिशत और ऊर्जा उत्पादन में 5 प्रतिशत का योगदान है।

2. India successfully testfired the Agni Prime New Generation Ballistic Missile off the coast of Odisha on Oct 21. During the test, the missile travelled its maximum range and all its test objectives were also met successfully. This was the third consecutive successful flight test of the Agni Prime missile. With this test, the accuracy and reliability of the system have been established. The Maiden test of Agni Prime was conducted on 28th June 2021 and 2nd test on 18th December 2021.

Ø  भारत ने 21 अक्टूबर को ओडिशा के तट से अग्नि प्राइम न्यू जेनरेशन बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया है। इस परीक्षण के दौरान, मिसाइल ने अपनी अधिकतम सीमा की यात्रा की और इसके सभी परीक्षण उद्देश्यों को भी सफलतापूर्वक पूरा किया गया है। यह अग्नि प्राइम मिसाइल का क्रमशः तीसरा सफल उड़ान परीक्षण था। इस परीक्षण के साथ, प्रणाली की सटीकता और विश्वसनीयता स्थापित की गई है। अग्नि प्राइम का पहला परीक्षण 28 जून 2021 को और दूसरा परीक्षण 18 दिसंबर 2021 को आयोजित किया गया था।

3. The Indian and U.S. militaries concluded a three-day joint humanitarian assistance exercise on Thursday at India’s Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam. The “Tiger Triumph” tabletop simulation was a comprehensive effort in which the Indian and U.S. military and diplomatic representatives coordinated a joint response to provide disaster relief services to a third country that experienced a super-cyclone. The first exercise – also based out of Visakhapatnam – took place over the course of nine days in November 2019 and featured more than 500 U.S. Marines and sailors and approximately 1,200 Indian sailors, soldiers, and airmen.

Ø  भारतीय और अमेरिकी सेनाओं ने विशाखापत्तनम में भारत की पूर्वी नौसेना कमान में तीन दिवसीय संयुक्त मानवीय सहायता अभ्यास का समापन किया है। "टाइगर ट्रायम्फ" टेबलटॉप सिमुलेशन एक व्यापक प्रयास था, जिसमें भारतीय और अमेरिकी सेना और राजनयिक प्रतिनिधियों ने एक सुपर-साइक्लोन का अनुभव करने वाले तीसरे देश को आपदा राहत सेवाएं प्रदान करने के लिए संयुक्त प्रतिक्रिया का समन्वय किया है। पहला अभ्यास - विशाखापत्तनम से बाहर - नवंबर 2019 में नौ दिनों के दौरान आयोजित किया गया था और इसमें 500 से अधिक अमेरिकी मरीन और नाविकों और लगभग 1,200 भारतीय नाविकों, सैनिकों और वायुसैनिकों को शामिल किया गया था।

4. Hyderabadi Haleem, a popular dish and Odisha’s Kandhamal Haldi, famous for its healing properties have bagged the 'Most Popular GI' award in the food category and agriculture category, respectively. Hyderabadi Haleem emerged as the winner by beating 17 food items from across India with a Geographical Indication (GI) status, including Rasogulla, Bikaneri Bhujiya, and Ratlami Sev. The prizes were given away by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

5. An Iranian man dubbed the 'dirtiest man in the world' for not taking a shower for more than half a century has died at the age of 94. Amou Haji, who did not wash for around 67 years, died in the village of Dejgah in Iran. Mr Haji chose to avoid showering over fears that it would bring him bad luck and make him sick. But 'for the first time a few months ago, villagers had taken him to a bathroom to wash.

Ø  आधी सदी से अधिक समय तक स्नान नहीं करने पर 'विश्व का सबसे गंदा आदमी' कहे जाने वाले एक ईरानी व्यक्ति की 94 वर्ष की आयु में मृत्यु हो गई है। लगभग 67 वर्षों तक स्नान न करने वाले अमौ हाजी की ईरान के देजगाह गांव में मृत्यु हो गई है। हाजी ने इस डर से स्नान करने से बचने का निर्णय किया कि यह उनके लिए दुर्भाग्य लाएगा और उन्हें बीमार कर देगा। लेकिन 'पहली बार कुछ माह पहले गांव वाले उन्हें नहाने के लिए स्नानागार में ले गए थे।

6. The 7th Ayurveda Day is going to be celebrated worldwide on 23rd October 2022. Dhanawantari Jayanti has been celebrated since 2016 as Ayurveda Day to promote our most ancient and well documented system of medicine. This year’s Ayurveda Day is being celebrated with the theme “Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda” so as to propagate benefits of Ayurveda to larger and grass root community.

Ø  7वां आयुर्वेद दिवस 23 अक्टूबर 2022 को विश्व भर में बड़े पैमाने पर मनाया गया है। हमारी सबसे प्राचीन और अच्छी तरह से प्रलेखित चिकित्सा प्रणाली को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए 2016 से धनवंतरी जयंती आयुर्वेद दिवस के रूप में मनाई जा रही है। इस वर्ष का आयुर्वेद दिवस "हर दिन हर घर आयुर्वेद" की थीम के साथ मनाया जा रहा है, जिससे कि आयुर्वेद के लाभों को व्यापक और आधारभूत स्तर के समुदाय तक पहुंचाया जा सके।

7. Anand Mamani, 56, the Deputy Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly, died Sunday after suffering from health-related complications. Anand Mamani was a three-time legislator from the Savadatti constituency in the Belagavi district. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru. During the monsoon session of the legislature held in September, he was rushed to a hospital in Chennai as his health deteriorated. He was a diabetic and had suffered a liver infection. He was shifted back to a Bengaluru hospital recently and was in a coma for the last few days.

Ø  कर्नाटक विधानसभा के उपाध्यक्ष 56 वर्षीय आनंद ममानी का स्वास्थ्य संबंधी जटिलताओं से पीड़ित होने के बाद निधन हो गया है। आनंद ममानी बेलगावी जिले के सावदत्ती निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से तीन बार विधायक रह चुके हैं। उनका बेंगलुरु के एक निजी अस्पताल में उपचार चल रहा था। इस वर्ष सितंबर में हुए विधानमंडल के मानसून सत्र के दौरान, उनकी तबीयत बिगड़ने पर उन्हें चेन्नई के एक अस्पताल में ले जाया गया था। वह मधुमेह के रोगी थे और उन्हें लीवर में संक्रमण हो गया था। उन्हें हाल ही में पुनः बेंगलुरु के एक अस्पताल में स्थानांतरित किया गया था और वह पिछले कुछ दिनों से कोमा में थे।

8. The United Nations celebrates World Development Information Day every year on October 24. The UN General Assembly in 1972 established the World Development Information Day to direct people’s attention toward developmental problems and the need to strengthen international cooperation to solve them. The main aim of this day is to propagate information and mobilise public opinion in order to draw their attention and create awareness of the problems surrounding development, promoting efforts in the field of international cooperation for growth and development.

Ø  संयुक्त राष्ट्र प्रत्येक वर्ष 24 अक्टूबर को विश्व विकास सूचना दिवस के रूप में मनाता है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने 1972 में विकास संबंधी समस्याओं की ओर लोगों का ध्यान आकर्षित करने और उन्हें हल करने के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सहयोग को मजबूत करने की आवश्यकता के लिए विश्व विकास सूचना दिवस की स्थापना की थी। इस दिन का मुख्य उद्देश्य सूचना का प्रचार-प्रसार करना और जनता का ध्यान आकर्षित करना और विकास के आसपास की समस्याओं के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करना, वृद्धि और विकास के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सहयोग के क्षेत्र में प्रयासों को प्रोत्साहन प्रदान करना है।

9. Global Media and Information Literacy Week is observed from October 24 to 31 every year. This year’s Global Media and Information Literacy Week will be hosted by Nigeria. This day was launched in 2012 by UNESCO with the support of the UNESCO-U.N.A.O.C. Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue University Network, and the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Alliance. It is a huge opportunity for stakeholders to reflect on and celebrate progress in achieving media and information literacy for all.’

Ø  वैश्विक मीडिया और सूचना साक्षरता सप्ताह प्रत्येक वर्ष 24 से 31 अक्टूबर तक मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष के वैश्विक मीडिया और सूचना साक्षरता सप्ताह की मेजबानी नाइजीरिया द्वारा की जाएगी। इस दिन को यूनेस्को द्वारा यूनेस्को-यू.एन.ए.ओ.सी. के सहयोग से वर्ष 2012 में प्रारम्भ किया गया था। यह हितधारकों के लिए मीडिया और सभी के लिए सूचना साक्षरता प्राप्त करने में होने वाले प्रगति पर चिंतन करने और उत्सव मनाने का एक बड़ा अवसर प्रदान करता है।

10. Economist Dr Bimal Jalan authored the book “From dependence to Self¬Reliance: Mapping India’s Rise as a Global Superpower”. The book is written lucidly, with the general reader in mind. Bimal Jalan breaks his book into 3 parts: 4 chapters on the economy, and 3 each on governance and politics. The primary focus shared by Bimal Jalan is to promote India’s national interests, irrespective of any party’s political agenda announced during elections.

Ø  अर्थशास्त्री डॉ बिमल जालान ने "डिपेंडेंस टू सेल्फ-रिलायंस: मैपिंग इंडियाज राइज एज़ ए ग्लोबल सुपरपावर" नामक एक पुस्तक लिखी है। यह पुस्तक सामान्य पाठक को ध्यान में रखते हुए स्पष्ट भाषा में लिखी गई है। बिमल जालान ने अपनी पुस्तक को 3 भागों में विभाजित किया है: अर्थव्यवस्था पर 4 अध्याय, और शासन और राजनीति पर 3-3 अध्याय। बिमल जालान द्वारा साझा की गई इस पुस्तक का प्राथमिक केंद्र भारत के राष्ट्रीय हितों को प्रोत्साहन देना है, यद्यपि चुनाव के दौरान किसी भी पार्टी के राजनीतिक एजेंडे रूप में इसकी घोषणा की गई हो।
