1.Fair-trade regulator Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Monday approved the proposed merger of Jio Cinema OTT with Viacom18 Media. In a tweet on Monday the CCI said it has approved amalgamation of the Jio Cinema OTT platform with Viacom18 Media, following an investment by BTS Investment and Reliance Projects & Property Management Services.

Ø  भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग (सीसीआई) ने वायकॉम18 मीडिया के साथ जियो सिनेमा ओटीटी के प्रस्तावित विलय को स्वीकृति दे दी है। सीसीआई ने एक विज्ञप्ति में कहा कि उसने बीटीएस इन्वेस्टमेंट और रिलायंस प्रोजेक्ट्स एंड प्रॉपर्टी मैनेजमेंट सर्विसेज के निवेश के बाद वायकॉम18 मीडिया के साथ जियो सिनेमा ओटीटी प्लेटफॉर्म के एकीकरण को स्वीकृति दे दी है।

2. The Bihar government is set to introduce a ‘no-bag day’ rule in schools and a mandatory games period at least once a week to reduce burden on students. The weekly “no-bag day" will have task-based practical classes. At least once a week, students will come to schools only with their lunch boxes. They do not need to carry books. The day will be devoted to practical and experiential learning. The objective of such a policy is to engage students in various activities, which can positively impact their learning.

Ø  बिहार सरकार छात्रों पर बोझ कम करने के लिए स्कूलों में 'नो-बैग डे' नियम और सप्ताह में कम से कम एक बार अनिवार्य खेल अवधि प्रारम्भ करने जा रहा है। साप्ताहिक "नो-बैग डे" में कार्य-आधारित व्यावहारिक कक्षाएं आयोजित होंगी। इसके अंतर्गत  सप्ताह में कम से कम एक बार, छात्र केवल अपने लंच बॉक्स के साथ स्कूलों में आएंगे। उन्हें किताबें ले जाने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। यह दिन व्यावहारिक और अनुभवात्मक सीखने के लिए समर्पित होगा। इस तरह की नीति का उद्देश्य छात्रों को विभिन्न गतिविधियों में शामिल करना है, जो उनके सीखने पर सकारात्मक प्रभाव डाल सकते हैं।

3. The Defence Accounts Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank of Baroda and HDFC Bank, to onboard them as Service Centres under the System for Pension Administration (Raksha) (SPARSH) initiative, across more than 14,000 branches throughout India. The objective is to bring 17 Lakh pensioners out of the total 32 lakh defence pensioners on SPARSH by the end of September, 2022 and the remaining pensioners will be brought to SPARSH at the earliest. He said that the average time in pension settlement has come down significantly to about 16 days.

Ø  रक्षा लेखा विभाग ने बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा और एचडीएफसी बैंक के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर,  जिससे कि उन्हें पूरे भारत में 14,000 से अधिक शाखाओं में पेंशन प्रशासन प्रणाली (रक्षा) (स्पर्श) पहल के अंतर्गत सेवा केंद्रों के रूप में जोड़ा जा सके। सितंबर, 2022 के अंत तक कुल 32 लाख रक्षा पेंशनरों में से 17 लाख पेंशनभोगियों को स्पर्श पर लाने का लक्ष्य है और शेष पेंशनभोगियों को शीघ्र ही स्पर्श के अंतर्गत लाया जाएगा। पेंशन निपटान में औसत समय बहुत कम होकर, करीब 16 दिन रह गया है।

4. The first ever three-day “floating” photo exhibition organized by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Central Bureau of Communication Regional Office, Imphal, Manipur kicked off at the Loktak Lake. The novel exhibition is housed on a specially constructed floating platform on the Lake, and can be accessed by a wooden causeway from the shore. This is the first-time that such an arrangement has been attempted by the Central Bureau of Communication in its history of over 50 years.

5. After more than 125 years, Braille version of ‘Hemkosh’ has been conceptualized and published by the Editor of Asomiya Pratidin, Jayanta Baruah, and was formally presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the national capital on Wednesday by Jayanta Baruah. Notably, South-East Asia’s first Braille dictionary is an Assamese dictionary, ‘Hemkosh’ which was also the first Assamese dictionary, edited by Hemchandra Baruah in the 19th century.

6. The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) signed a FinTech Co-operation Agreement to facilitate regulatory collaboration and partnership in FinTech technology. The agreement is expected to leverage existing regulatory sandboxes in their respective jurisdictions to support experimentation of technology innovations. It will include referral of companies to each other's regulatory sandboxes and enable innovative cross-border experiments in both jurisdictions.

Ø  सिंगापुर के मौद्रिक प्राधिकरण (एमएएस) और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वित्तीय सेवा केंद्र प्राधिकरण (आईएफएससीए) ने फिनटेक प्रौद्योगिकी में नियामक सहयोग और साझेदारी की सुविधा के लिए एक फिनटेक सहयोग समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किया है। प्रौद्योगिकी नवाचारों के प्रयोग का समर्थन करने के लिए इस समझौते से, उनके संबंधित अधिकार क्षेत्र में वर्तमान नियामक सैंडबॉक्स का लाभ प्राप्त करने की उम्मीद है। इसमें एक-दूसरे के नियामक सैंडबॉक्स में कंपनियों का रेफरल शामिल होगा और दोनों अधिकार क्षेत्र में अभिनव सीमा-पार प्रयोगों को सक्षम करेगा।

7. Asian Cricket Council’s President Jay Shah announced the schedule of the eighth edition of the Women Asia Cup 2022. The tournament is scheduled to start from October 1 and will see seven teams playing for the coveted cup with the final scheduled to be played on October 15.  The tournament will feature India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, UAE, and Bangladesh. Bangladesh is set to host the tournament and the matches will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Ø  एशियाई क्रिकेट परिषद के अध्यक्ष जय शाह ने महिला एशिया कप 2022 के आठवें संस्करण के कार्यक्रम की घोषणा की है। यह टूर्नामेंट 1 अक्टूबर से प्रारम्भ होने वाला है और15 अक्टूबर को इस प्रतिष्ठित कप का फाइनल खेल आयोजित होगा। इस टूर्नामेंट में भारत, पाकिस्तान, श्रीलंका, थाईलैंड, मलेशिया, यूएई और बांग्लादेश शामिल होंगे। बांग्लादेश टूर्नामेंट की मेजबानी कर रहा है और यह मैच सिलहट अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट स्टेडियम में खेले जाएंगे।

8. An early goal by Shamsunnahar jr helped Bangladesh clinch their maiden SAFF Women’s Championship title after they beat hosts Nepal 3-1 at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Monday. Bangladesh skipper Sabina Khatun, who was the top scorer of the tournament netting eight goals in five games, dedicated the trophy to the people of Bangladesh.

9. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, Shaktikanta Das, launched three key digital payment initiatives at the Global Fintech Fest 2022. The three digital payment initiatives that were launched by the RBI are RuPay Credit Card on Unified Payments Interface (UPI), UPI Lite, and Bharat BillPay Cross-Border Bill Payments.

Ø  भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) के गवर्नर शक्तिकांत दास ने ग्लोबल फिनटेक फेस्ट 2022 में तीन प्रमुख डिजिटल भुगतान पहल प्रारम्भ की है। आरबीआई द्वारा प्रारम्भ की गई तीन डिजिटल भुगतान पहल एकीकृत भुगतान इंटरफेस (यूपीआई) पर रुपे क्रेडिट कार्ड , UPI लाइट और भारत बिलपे क्रॉस-बॉर्डर बिल भुगतान हैं।

10. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and UNICEF formally launched the Doordarshan and YouTube series titled Duur Se Namaste (“Greetings from a distance!”) at an event held today in New Delhi. Duur Se Namaste, a fictional Hindi series developed in an entertainment-education format, highlights the challenges of a post-pandemic world and promotes the adoption of healthy behaviours and practices.
