1.An Indian Foreign Service official of 1997 batch, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan who is presently the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Lebanon has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He will replace Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, a 1989 batch IFS officer. Dr. Khan worked at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh between September 2017 and June 2019 as Deputy Chief of Mission.

Ø 1997 बैच के भारतीय विदेश सेवा के अधिकारी, डॉ. सुहेल एजाज खान; जो वर्तमान में लेबनान गणराज्य में भारत के राजदूत हैं, को किंगडम ऑफ सऊदी अरब में भारत के अगले राजदूत के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। वह 1989 बैच के आईएफएस अधिकारी डॉ. औसाफ सईद का स्थान लेंगे। डॉ. खान ने सितंबर 2017 और जून 2019 के बीच अभियान के उप प्रमुख के रूप में रियाद में भारतीय दूतावास में कार्य किया है।

2.Anil Kumar Lahoti has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Railway Board. The former General Manager of Central Railway was appointed as Member (Infrastructure) of the board a week ago, and will be taking over the chairmanship from Vinay Kumar Tripathi on January 1. Lahoti belongs to the 1984 batch of Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE). 

Ø अनिल कुमार लाहोटी को रेलवे बोर्ड का मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी और अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है। मध्य रेलवे के पूर्व महाप्रबंधक को एक सप्ताह पहले बोर्ड के सदस्य (इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर) के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था, और वे 1 जनवरी को विनय कुमार त्रिपाठी से अध्यक्षता ग्रहण करेंगे। लाहोटी अभियन्त्रक भारतीय रेलवे सेवा (आईआरएसई) के 1984 बैच के अधिकारी हैं।

3.The Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize 2021-22 has been jointly won by Sudeep Sen and Shobhana Kumar. The winners, awarded $10,000 and a Rabindranath Tagore statuette, were picked from a shortlist of 11 at India International Centre, with the Tagore Prize for social achievement going to Sanjoy K Roy, producer of the Jaipur Literature Festival.

Ø सुदीप सेन और शोभना कुमार ने संयुक्त रूप से रवींद्रनाथ टैगोर साहित्य पुरस्कार 2021-22 जीता है। इंडिया इंटरनेशनल सेंटर में दोनों विजेताओं को 10,000 डॉलर और रवींद्रनाथ टैगोर की प्रतिमा से सम्मानित किया गया है।  दोनों विजेताओं को 11 लोगों में से चुना गया था और इसके साथ ही सामाजिक उपलब्धि के लिए टैगोर पुरस्कार, जयपुर लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल के निर्माता संजय के रॉय को दिया जाएगा।

4.  December 26 will be observed as Veer Bal Diwas in India. Sahibzada Ajit Singh, Shahibjada Jujhar Singh, Sahibjada Zorawar Singh, and Sahibzada Fateh Singh are the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh guru. On this Occasion, The government is organising interactive and participative programmes all over the country to inform and educate citizens, especially the young children, about the story of exemplary courage of the Sahibzadas.

5.Rights of all consumers are celebrated and promoted across India annually on National Consumer Rights Day, December 24. In India, the rights of consumers were taken seriously when the Consumer Protection Act of 1986 was enacted. The Consumer Protection Acts of both 1986 and 2019 are complemented by the Right to Information Act, which made the governance processes of India transparent to the citizens and included vast implications for consumer rights.

Ø राष्ट्रीय उपभोक्ता अधिकार दिवस, 24 दिसंबर को पूरे भारत में प्रत्येक वर्ष सभी उपभोक्ताओं के अधिकारों के लिए जागरूक करने और उन्हें प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए मनाया जाता है। भारत में, उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम 1986 के लागू होने पर उपभोक्ताओं के अधिकारों को गंभीरता से लिया गया था। 1986 और 2019 दोनों के उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम सूचना के अधिकार अधिनियम द्वारा पूरक हैं, जिसने भारत की शासन प्रक्रियाओं को नागरिकों के लिए पारदर्शी बनाया और इसके अंतर्गत उपभोक्ता अधिकारों के लिए व्यापक निहितार्थ शामिल किए गए हैं।

6. Sitiveni Rabuka has become Fiji’s prime minister. secret parliamentary vote for prime minister was closer than had been expected, with 28 members of parliament voting for Rabuka while 27 voted in support of Bainimarama. Rabuka’s coalition holds 29 seats in parliament. Fiji, a country in the South Pacific, is an archipelago of more than 300 islands.

7.Every year, in honour of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Vihari Vajpayee’s birthday, India observes "Good Governance Day". Prime Minister Narendra Modi 2014 announced that "Good Governance Day" will be observed annually on December 25 in memory of the former PM. The day is celebrated to make sure that the country's residents are treated fairly by the government and they receive the advantages of various government services.

8. Sam Curran, the England all-rounder, emerged as the costliest buy in the history of the Indian Premier League when he was sold to Punjab Kings at the IPL 2023 Auction for a gobsmacking amount of ₹18.5 crore. Curran, who made his IPL debut with PBKS back in 2019, broke the record which was previously held by South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris, on whom the Rajasthan Royals had spent ₹16.5 crore at the IPL 2021 auction.

9. Indian Air Force (IAF) and Japanese Air Self Defence Force (JASDF) are set to hold their maiden bilateral air exercise, Veer Guardian 23, from January 16 to 26 at Hyakuri air base and Iruma air base in Japan. Japan also participated for the first time in the multilateral exercise MILAN hosted by the Navy early this year. The defence cooperation between the two countries has significantly expanded in recent years, especially in the maritime domain with Maritime Domain.

Ø भारतीय वायु सेना (IAF) और जापानी वायु आत्मरक्षा बल (JASDF) 16 से 26 जनवरी तक जापान में हयाकुरी हवाई अड्डे और इरुमा हवाई अड्डे पर अपना पहला द्विपक्षीय हवाई अभ्यास, वीर गार्जियन 23 आयोजित करने जा रहे हैं। जापान ने भी इस वर्ष के प्रारंभ में नौसेना द्वारा आयोजित बहुपक्षीय अभ्यास मिलन में पहली बार भाग लिया था। दोनों देशों के बीच रक्षा सहयोग में हाल के वर्षों में विशेष रूप से समुद्री क्षेत्र में व्यापक विस्तार हुआ है।

10.  The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has received in-principle approval from the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to set up Social Stock Exchange (SSE) as a separate segment of the NSE. Currently, the regulations allow minimum issue size as Rs 1 crore and minimum application size for subscription at Rs 2 lakh. Social Stock Exchanges provide a unified funding channel to listed social enterprises that are at the bottom of the socio-economic process. Countries like Brazil, Portugal, South Africa, the UK, Canada and Singapore already have established Social Stock Exchanges.
