1.Country's first 'Migration Monitoring System', which provides updated information on migrant pregnant women, lactating mothers and children instantly on a single system, was inaugurated in Mumbai. The Department has created a website-based Migration Tracking System (MTS) to track the movements of vulnerable seasonal migrant beneficiaries through individual unique identification numbers. Through this system, the information of seasonal migrant women and children will be available immediately. This will make it easier for the beneficiaries to get the benefits of the government schemes.

Ø  देश की पहली 'माइग्रेशन मॉनिटरिंग सिस्टम', जो प्रवासी गर्भवती महिलाओं, स्तनपान कराने वाली माताओं और बच्चों पर शीघ्र ही एक ही सिस्टम पर अद्यतन जानकारी प्रदान करती है, का उद्घाटन मुंबई में किया गया है।  सम्बंधित विभाग ने व्यक्तिगत विशिष्ट पहचान संख्या के माध्यम से कमजोर मौसमी प्रवासी लाभार्थियों के प्रवासन को ट्रैक करने के लिए एक वेबसाइट आधारित यह माइग्रेशन ट्रैकिंग सिस्टम (एमटीएस) बनाया गया है। इस व्यवस्था से मौसमी प्रवासी महिलाओं और बच्चों की जानकारी तत्काल मिल सकेगी। इससे लाभार्थियों को सरकारी योजनाओं का लाभ प्राप्त करना सुलभ हो जाएगा।

2. The UN Human Rights Council appointed the first Asian and first Indian as an independent expert on racism and related intolerance. The 47-member UN human rights body, based in Geneva, endorsed the appointment of Dalit activist and professor of political science, Ashwini K.P. The vacancy for the Special Rapporteur (SR) on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance came up unexpectedly as the incumbent, Zambia’s E. Tendayi Achiume, resigned before the completion of her three-year term.

Ø  संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार परिषद ने पहले एशियाई और पहले भारतीय को नस्लवाद और संबंधित असहिष्णुता पर एक स्वतंत्र विशेषज्ञ के रूप में नियुक्त किया है। जिनेवा स्थित 47 सदस्यीय संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार निकाय ने दलित कार्यकर्ता और राजनीति विज्ञान के प्रोफेसर अश्विनी के.पी. नियुक्ति का अनुसमर्थन किया है। जातिवाद, नस्लीय भेदभाव, ज़ेनोफ़ोबिया और संबंधित असहिष्णुता के समकालीन रूपों पर विशेष दूत (एसआर) के लिए पद खाली हो गया था, क्योंकि जाम्बिया के ई० तेंदाई अचियूम ने अपना तीन वर्ष का कार्यकाल पूरा होने से पहले त्यागपत्र दे दिया है।

3. World Polio Day 2022 is observed every year on October 24 to raise awareness about the polio vaccination and eradication of polio from every corner of the world. The day is observed to commemorate the progress made by the world towards polio eradication. This year, the overarching theme of World Polio Day is “World Polio Day 2022 and Beyond: A healthier future for mothers and children”.

Ø  पोलियो टीकाकरण और पोलियो उन्मूलन के बारे में विश्व के कोने-कोने से जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए प्रत्येक वर्ष 24 अक्टूबर को विश्व पोलियो दिवस 2022 मनाया जाता है। पोलियो उन्मूलन की दिशा में विश्व द्वारा की गई प्रगति की सराहना करने के लिए यह दिन मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष, विश्व पोलियो दिवस का विषय "विश्व पोलियो दिवस 2022 और आगे: माताओं और बच्चों के लिए एक स्वस्थ भविष्य" है।

4. The globally recognized and the coveted International eco-label "Blue Flag”, has been accorded to two new beaches – Minicoy Thundi Beach and Kadmat Beach- both in Lakshadweep. This takes the number of beaches certified under the Blue Flag certification to twelve (12). Foundation for Environment Education in Denmark (FEE) accords the globally recognized eco-label - Blue Flag certification. In order to qualify for this prestigious award, a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety-related and access-related criteria must be met and maintained. The mission of Blue Flag is to promote sustainability in the tourism sector, through environmental education, environmental protection and other sustainable development practices.

Ø  विश्व स्तर पर मान्यता प्राप्त और प्रतिष्ठित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय इको-लेबल "ब्लू फ्लैग" को लक्षद्वीप में दो नए समुद्र तटों - मिनिकॉय थुंडी बीच और कदमत बीच- को प्रदान किया गया है। इससे ब्लू फ्लैग प्रमाणन के अंतर्गत प्रमाणित समुद्र तटों की संख्या बारह हो गई है। डेनमार्क में पर्यावरण शिक्षा के लिए फाउंडेशन (एफईई) विश्व स्तर पर मान्यता प्राप्त इको-लेबल - ब्लू फ्लैग प्रमाणन प्रदान करता है। इस प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार के लिए अर्हता प्राप्त करने के लिए, कड़े पर्यावरण, शैक्षिक, सुरक्षा-संबंधी और पहुंच-संबंधी मानदंडों की एक श्रृंखला होनी चाहिए और इसका लगभग स्थायित्व बना रहना चाहिए। ब्लू फ्लैग का मिशन पर्यावरण शिक्षा, पर्यावरण संरक्षण और अन्य सतत विकास प्रथाओं के माध्यम से पर्यटन क्षेत्र में स्थिरता को प्रोत्साहन देना है।

5. The 7th Ayurveda Day was celebrated today on a magnificent scale in India and at international level. This year’s 7th Ayurveda Day was celebrated with the theme “Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda” so as to propagate benefits of Ayurveda to larger and grass root community. A Memorandum of understanding was signed between Ministry of Ayush and Ministry of Tribal Affairs to explore the areas of collaboration, convergence and synergy between both the ministries for Tribal development while preserving the tribal culture heritage through evidence-based planning and capacity building. On this occasion a book on ‘The Ayurvedic Pharmacopia of India’, ‘The Ayurvedic formulary of India’ was released.

Ø  भारत और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर 7वां आयुर्वेद दिवस भव्य स्तर पर मनाया गया। इस वर्ष का 7वां आयुर्वेद दिवस "हर दिन हर घर आयुर्वेद" की थीम के साथ मनाया गया जिससे कि आयुर्वेद के लाभों को व्यापक और जमीनी स्तर तक समुदायों के बीच प्रचारित किया जा सके। साक्ष्य-आधारित विनियोजन और क्षमता निर्माण के माध्यम से जनजातीय संस्कृति विरासत को संरक्षित करते हुए जनजातीय विकास के लिए दोनों मंत्रालयों के बीच सहयोग, समन्वयन और संयोजन के क्षेत्रों की खोज करने के लिए आयुष मंत्रालय और जनजातीय कार्य मंत्रालय के बीच समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किये गये। इस अवसर पर 'द आयुर्वेदिक फार्माकोपिया ऑफ इंडिया', 'द आयुर्वेदिक फॉर्म्युलारी ऑफ इंडिया' पर एक पुस्तक का विमोचन किया गया।

6. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology and Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today chaired District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting to review progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) being implemented in Kishtwar district. Sanction letters under “Nikshay Poshan Yojana” for identified TB patients were also handed over to beneficiaries on the occasion. District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committees (DISHAs) have been formed to ensure better coordination among all the elected representatives in Parliament, State Legislatures and Local Governments (Panchayati Raj Institutions/Municipal Bodies) for efficient and time-bound development. It is a government wide initiative that seeks to promote participative governance and deliberative democracy.

Ø  केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी और पृथ्वी विज्ञान; कार्मिक, लोक शिकायत, पेंशन, परमाणु ऊर्जा और अंतरिक्ष, डॉ जितेंद्र सिंह ने किश्तवाड़ जिले में लागू की जा रही विभिन्न केंद्र प्रायोजित योजनाओं (CSS) की प्रगति की समीक्षा के लिए जिला विकास समन्वय और निगरानी समिति (DISHA) की बैठक की अध्यक्षता की है। इस अवसर पर चिन्हित टीबी रोगियों के लिए "निक्षय पोषण योजना" के अंतर्गत स्वीकृति पत्र भी लाभार्थियों को सौंपे गए हैं। कुशल और समयबद्ध विकास के लिए संसद, राज्य विधानमंडलों और स्थानीय सरकारों (पंचायती राज संस्थाओं / नगर निकायों) में सभी निर्वाचित प्रतिनिधियों के बीच बेहतर समन्वय सुनिश्चित करने के लिए जिला विकास समन्वय और निगरानी समितियों (दिशा) का गठन किया गया है। यह एक सरकार की व्यापक पहल है जो सहभागी शासन और विचारशील लोकतंत्र को प्रोत्साहन देना चाहती है।

7. Indian Coast Guard, ICG rescued Twenty Bangladeshi fishermen from the sea off Sagar Island near Indo-Bangladesh International Maritime Border Line and handed it over to their Bangladesh counterpart yesterday. The Defence Ministry said that, in a swift coordinated Search and Rescue operation, ICG saved fishermen's lives after the Coast Guard Dornier aircraft on surveillance sortie of the post-landfall of cyclone 'SITRANG' sighted their capsized boats and alerted the rescue team. It said, they were rescued quickly and handed over to the Bangladesh Coast Guard. The Ministry said that ICG had launched its Dornier aircraft post-landfall of cyclone 'SITRANG' to sanitize the area close to the coast off Odisha and West Bengal and to render assistance to the mariners affected by the cyclone.

Ø  भारतीय तटरक्षक बल, आईसीजी ने भारत-बांग्लादेश अंतर्राष्ट्रीय समुद्री सीमा रेखा के पास सागर द्वीप से समुद्र से बीस बांग्लादेशी मछुआरों को बचाया और सभी को उनके बांग्लादेश समकक्ष को सौंप दिया है। रक्षा मंत्रालय के अनुसार, एक त्वरित समन्वित खोज और बचाव अभियान में, आईसीजी ने मछुआरों की जान उस समय बचाई, जब तटरक्षक डोर्नियर विमान ने चक्रवात 'सितरंग' के बाद आयोजित गई निगरानी के समय उनकी नावों को देखा और बचाव दल को सतर्क किया। रक्षा मंत्रालय के अनुसार आईसीजी ने ओडिशा और पश्चिम बंगाल के तट के करीब के क्षेत्र को सैनिटाइज़ करने और चक्रवात से प्रभावित नाविकों को सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए चक्रवात 'सितरंग' के उतरने के बाद अपना डोर्नियर विमान लॉन्च किया था।

8. Union Home Ministry has cancelled the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) licences of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF) and the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust (RGCT) for alleged violations of laws. These two NGOs are currently being headed by former Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Official sources said that the FCRA licences have been cancelled after carrying out an investigation against these NGOs. The Home Ministry had formed an inter-ministerial committee in 2020 to investigate certain irregularities. The committee comprised of officers from the Ministries of Home and Finance as well as the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Ø  केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने कानूनों के कथित उल्लंघन के लिए राजीव गांधी फाउंडेशन (आरजीएफ) और राजीव गांधी चैरिटेबल ट्रस्ट (आरजीसीटी) के विदेशी अंशदान विनियमन अधिनियम (एफसीआरए) लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिए हैं। इन दोनों एनजीओ का नेतृत्व वर्तमान में कांग्रेस की पूर्व अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी कर रही हैं। इन एनजीओ के विरुद्ध जांच करने के बाद एफसीआरए के लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिए गए हैं। गृह मंत्रालय ने कुछ अनियमितताओं की जांच के लिए 2020 में इसके सम्बन्ध में एक अंतर-मंत्रालयी समिति का गठन किया था। इस समिति में गृह और वित्त मंत्रालयों के साथ-साथ केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो के अधिकारी शामिल थे।

9. Late Hollywood actress and fashion icon Anna May Wong (1905-1961) is set to become the first Asian American to feature on US currency. A quarter-dollar coin featuring a close-up image of Wong’s face chin resting on her hand will begin circulating from October 24, as the fifth coin in the American Women Quarters (AWQ) Program. Wong started her film career at the age of 14 as an extra in The Red Lantern (1919).

10. Rishi Sunak became Britain's third prime minister this year. Sunak addressed the nation outside 10 Downing Street after his appointment by King Charles III. Sunak became the ruling Conservatives' new leader after triumphing over rival contender Penny Mordaunt, who failed to secure enough nominations from Tory MPs.
