1.      Airports Authority of India (AAI) and LFV Air Navigation Services of Sweden signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Corporate Headquarters of AAI in New Delhi. The agreement brings together two air navigation service providers, India and Sweden, with demonstrated capabilities in building and operationalizing the next generation of sustainable aviation technology, to explore smart aviation solutions.

Ø  भारतीय विमानपत्तन प्राधिकरण (एएआई) ने लेव एयर नेवीगेशन सर्विसेज ऑफ स्वीडन के साथ नई दिल्ली स्थित प्राधिकरण के कॉरपोरेट मुख्यालय में एक समझौता-ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किया है। इस समझौते के अंतर्गत अगली पीढ़ी वाली सतत विमानन प्रौद्योगिकी को तैयार करने और उसे संचालित करने तथा स्मार्ट विमानन समाधानों की पड़ताल करने की क्षमताओं को ध्यान में रखते हुए भारत तथा स्वीडन; दोनों के वायु विमानन सेवा प्रदाता एक-दूसरे का सहयोग करेंगे।

2.      The 38th Meeting of Ministerial level Joint Rivers Commission of India and Bangladesh was held in New Delhi on 25th August, 2022. The Indian delegation was led by Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Jal Shakti. The Bangladesh delegation was led by Mr. Zaheed Farooque, State Minister for Water Resources. The meeting assumes significance as it was held after a long gap of 12 years, though the technical interactions under the framework of JRC have continued in the intervening period.

Ø  भारत-बांग्लादेश संयुक्त नदी आयोग की 38वीं मंत्री स्तरीय बैठक 25 अगस्त, 2022 को नई दिल्ली में हुई। भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल की अध्यक्षता केंद्रीय जल शक्ति मंत्री श्री गजेन्द्र सिंह शेखावत ने की। बांग्लादेश के प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व जल संसाधन राज्यमंत्री श्री ज़हीद फ़ारूक़ कर रहे थे। यह बैठक इसलिए महत्वपूर्ण है, क्योंकि 12 वर्षों के अंतराल के बाद इसका आयोजन किया गया था, यद्यपि इस दौरान संयुक्त नदी आयोग के प्रारूप के अंतर्गत दोनों पक्षों के बीच तकनीकी बातचीत जारी रही।

3.      CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum is organizing the 6th National Symposium on “Shaping the Energy Future: Challenges and Opportunities” (SEFCO) during 26-27 August, 2022. Dr. Anjan Ray, Director, CSIR-IIP shaped this event in 2017, which has now become an annual event organized by the researchers and research scholars in the institute.

Ø  सीएसआईआर-भारतीय पेट्रोलियम संस्थान; 26-27 अगस्त, 2022 के दौरान “शेपिंग द एनर्जी फ्यूचर: चैलेंजेज एंड ऑपर्चुनिटी" (एसईएफसीओ) पर 6वें राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का आयोजन कर रहा है। डॉ. अंजन रे, निदेशक, सीएसआईआर-आईआईपी ने 2017 में इस कार्यक्रम को आकार दिया था, जो अब संस्थान के शोधकर्ताओं और शोधार्थियों द्वारा आयोजित किया जाने वाला एक वार्षिक कार्यक्रम बन चुका है।

4.      A ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir’ for distribution of aids and assistive devices to Senior citizens under ‘Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana’ (RVY Scheme) and to ‘Divyangjan’ under the ADIP Scheme of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.

Ø  वरिष्ठ नागरिकों और दिव्यांगजनों को सहायक उपकरण वितरित करने के लिये नागपुर में एक ‘सामाजिक अधिकारिता शिविर’ का आयोजन किया गया। यह आयोजन नागपुर के रेशिमबाग ग्राउंड में केंद्रीय सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता मंत्रालय की ‘उपकरणों की खरीद/फिटिंग के लिये दिव्यांग व्यक्तियों के लिये सहायता’ (एडीआईपी) योजना के अंतर्गत दिव्यांगजनों के लिये और ‘राष्ट्रीय वयोश्री योजना’ के अंतर्गत वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिये किया गया था।

5.      Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh held bilateral talks with Tanzanian Minister of Defence and National Service Dr Stergomena Lawrence Tax in New Delhi on August 26, 2022. A wide range of issues concerning bilateral, regional and defence industrial cooperation were discussed during the meeting. The two Ministers reviewed the existing military-to-military activities and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in all domains with a focus on defence industry cooperation.

Ø  रक्षा मंत्री श्री राजनाथ सिंह ने दिनांक 26 अगस्त, 2022 को नई दिल्ली में तंजानिया की रक्षा एवं राष्ट्रीय सेवा मंत्री डॉ. स्टरगोमेना लॉरेंस टैक्स के साथ द्विपक्षीय वार्ता की। बैठक के दौरान द्विपक्षीय, क्षेत्रीय और रक्षा औद्योगिक सहयोग से संबंधित अनेक मुद्दों पर चर्चा की गई। दोनों मंत्रियों ने मौजूदा आपसी सैन्य गतिविधियों की समीक्षा की और रक्षा उद्योग सहयोग पर ध्यान देने के साथ सभी क्षेत्रों में सहयोग बढ़ाने के तरीकों पर चर्चा की।

6.      The Appointments Committee of the cabinet on August 25, 2022 appointed Dr. Samir V. Kamat as Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development and Chairman, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Incumbent DRDO Chairman Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy has been appointed as Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister. Dr. Reddy was appointed to the present post in August 2018.

Ø  कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति ने 25 अगस्त, 2022 को डॉ. समीर वी. कामत को रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास विभाग का सचिव और रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है। वर्तमान डीआरडीओ अध्यक्ष डॉ० जी० सतीश रेड्डी को रक्षा मंत्री के वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। डॉ० रेड्डी को वर्तमान पद पर अगस्त 2018 में नियुक्त किया गया था।

7.      The Defence Research and Development Organisation's (DRDO) successfully tested extended range Pinaka (Pinaka-ER) Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher System at Rajasthan's Pokhran Range. The DRDO Laboratory Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) along with High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Pune have designed the system.

Ø  रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने राजस्थान के पोखरण रेंज में विस्तारित रेंज पिनाका (पिनाका-ईआर) मल्टी बैरल रॉकेट लॉन्चर सिस्टम का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया है। DRDO प्रयोगशाला आयुध अनुसंधान और विकास प्रतिष्ठान (ARDE) ने उच्च ऊर्जा सामग्री अनुसंधान प्रयोगशाला (HEMRL), पुणे के साथ इस प्रणाली को डिजाइन किया है।

8.      NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has captured new images of the Jupiter planet. Webb’s Jupiter observations will give scientists even more clues to Jupiter’s inner life. 

Ø  नासा के जेम्स वेब स्पेस टेलीस्कोप ने बृहस्पति ग्रह की नई छवियों को कैप्चर किया है। वेब द्वारा बृहस्पति का यह अवलोकन वैज्ञानिकों को बृहस्पति के आंतरिक संरचना के बारे में जानकारी प्रदान करेंगे।

9.      Olympic champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra scripted history as he became the first Indian to clinch a Diamond League Meeting title by winning the Lausanne leg here. The 24-year-old Chopra, who had pulled out of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games due to a minor groin injury he had suffered while winning a silver during the World Championships last month, hurled the spear to 89.08m in his first attempt to seal the win in style.

Ø  ओलंपिक चैम्पियन भाला फेंक खिलाड़ी नीरज चोपड़ा ने लुसाने लेग जीतकर डायमंड लीग खिताब जीतने वाले पहले भारतीय बन गए हैं। 24 वर्षीय नीरज चोपड़ा; जो पिछले माह विश्व चैंपियनशिप के दौरान कमर की चोट के कारण बर्मिंघम राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों से हट गए थे, ने अपने पहले प्रयास में 89.08 मीटर तक भाला फेंका।

10.  The fourth edition of the India Clean Air Summit (ICAS) began in Bengaluru with global experts set to discuss an integrated approach to resolving air pollution and climate change. The four-day event will see policymakers, scientists, technologists and people affected by climate change sharing experiences and statistics and, hopefully, devise solutions.

Ø  भारत स्वच्छ वायु शिखर सम्मेलन (आईसीएएस) का चौथा संस्करण बेंगलुरु में प्रारम्भ हुआ, जिसमें वैश्विक विशेषज्ञ वायु प्रदूषण और जलवायु परिवर्तन को हल करने के लिए एक एकीकृत दृष्टिकोण पर चर्चा होगी। चार दिवसीय कार्यक्रम में नीति निर्माता, वैज्ञानिक, प्रौद्योगिकीविद और जलवायु परिवर्तन से प्रभावित लोग अनुभव और आंकड़े साझा करेंगे और इससे सम्बन्धित समाधान तैयार करेंगे।
