1.The Corporate Affairs Ministry (MCA) appointed Sangeeta Verma, Member-CCI, as Acting Chairperson of Competition Commission of India (CCI). Verma, who is from the 1981 batch of Indian Economic Service (IES), had joined CCI as a Member on December 24, 2018. She has wide ranging experience of over three decades in government, both Central and State, as an economist, administrator, regulator and policymaker.

Ø  कॉरपोरेट मामलों के मंत्रालय (एमसीए) ने सीसीआई की सदस्य संगीता वर्मा को भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग (सीसीआई) का कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है। संगीता वर्मा; जो भारतीय आर्थिक सेवा (आईईएस) के 1981 बैच से हैं, 24 दिसंबर, 2018 को एक सदस्य के रूप में सीसीआई में शामिल हुई थीं। उन्हें एक अर्थशास्त्री, प्रशासक, नियामक और नीति निर्माता के रूप में केंद्र और राज्य दोनों में सरकार में तीन दशकों से अधिक का व्यापक अनुभव है।

2. Legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray's feature “C” has been declared the best Indian film of all time by International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI). The 1955 film has received the number one slot in the top ten films in the history of Indian cinema list, which was declared after a poll conducted by the India chapter of FIPRESCI. Based on Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay’s 1929 Bengali novel of the same name, "Pather Panchali" was Ray’s directorial debut.

Ø  महान फिल्म निर्माता सत्यजीत रे की फिल्म "पाथेर पांचाली" को इंटरनेशनल फेडरेशन ऑफ फिल्म क्रिटिक्स (एफआईपीआरईएससीआई) द्वारा अब तक की सर्वश्रेष्ठ भारतीय फिल्म घोषित किया गया है। वर्ष 1955 की इस फिल्म ने भारतीय सिनेमा सूची के इतिहास में शीर्ष दस फिल्मों में प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया है, जिसे FIPRESCI के भारत-अध्याय द्वारा किए गए एक सर्वेक्षण के बाद घोषित किया गया था। विभूतिभूषण बंद्योपाध्याय के वर्ष 1929 के इसी नाम के बंगाली उपन्यास पर आधारित, "पाथेर पांचाली"; सत्यजीत रे के निर्देशन में पहली फिल्म थी।

3. Beverage major Coca-Cola on Tuesday said that Sprite has now become a billion-dollar brand in India in terms of sales. This will be the second brand in the company’s India portfolio after Thums Up to achieve this milestone. In August, the beverage giant had stated that Sprite was the biggest contributor to the overall volume-led growth for Coca-Cola India in the first half of the year. The lime and lemon-based soft drink brand also has the highest household penetration in the company’s India portfolio.

Ø  पेय पदार्थ प्रमुख कोका-कोला के अनुसार स्प्राइट अब बिक्री के मामले में भारत में एक अरब डॉलर का ब्रांड बन गया है। यह उपलब्धि प्राप्त करने के लिए थम्स अप के बाद कंपनी के भारतीय पोर्टफोलियो में यह दूसरा ब्रांड होगा। अगस्त माह में, कंपनी ने कहा था कि वर्ष की पहली छमाही में कोका-कोला इंडिया के लिए समग्र वॉल्यूम-आधारित विकास में स्प्राइट का सबसे बड़ा योगदान था। नींबू और संतरा आधारित इस शीतल पेय ब्रांड की कंपनी के भारतीय पोर्टफोलियो में घरेलू स्तर पर सबसे अधिक मांग है।

4. The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) researchers have studied the interactions between microbes in the International Space Station (ISS). A key finding is that a microbe that resides on the ISS, was found to be beneficial to various other microorganisms but hampered the growth of a fungus. The study would help devise strategies for the disinfection of space stations to minimise any potential impact of microbes on the health of astronauts.

Ø  भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान-मद्रास और नासा जेट प्रोपल्शन लेबोरेटरी (जेपीएल) के शोधकर्ताओं ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष स्टेशन (आईएसएस) में रोगाणुओं के बीच अन्तः-क्रिया का अध्ययन किया है। एक महत्वपूर्ण खोज यह भी है कि आईएसएस पर रहने वाले एक सूक्ष्म जीव को कई अन्य सूक्ष्मजीवों के लिए लाभदायक पाया गया, लेकिन एक कवक के विकास में बाधा उत्पन्न हुई है। यह अध्ययन, अंतरिक्ष स्टेशनों के कीटाणुशोधन के लिए रणनीति तैयार करने में सहायता प्रदान करेगा, जिससे कि अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों के स्वास्थ्य पर रोगाणुओं के किसी भी संभावित प्रभाव को कम किया जा सके।

5. The Accession Day of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India is being celebrated on 26th October across the Union Territory. Accession Day carries great significance as it was on this day in 1947 that the then Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, Hari Singh signed the Instrument of Accession to become part of the greatest democracy of the world. Several functions are being organized to mark the day. Accession Day is a public holiday in the Union Territory.

Ø  भारत संघ के साथ जम्मू और कश्मीर का विलय दिवस 26 अक्टूबर को पूरे केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में मनाया जा रहा है। विलय दिवस का बहुत महत्व है क्योंकि 1947 में इसी दिन जम्मू और कश्मीर के तत्कालीन महाराजा हरि सिंह ने विश्व के सबसे महान लोकतंत्र का हिस्सा बनने के लिए इंस्ट्रूमेंट ऑफ एक्सेशन (विलय-पत्र) पर हस्ताक्षर किए थे। इस दिन को चिह्नित करने के लिए कई समारोह आयोजित किए जा रहे हैं। विलय दिवस, जम्मू और कश्मीर केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में एक सार्वजनिक अवकाश है।

6.Apple Inc would make fresh investments to set up solar and wind projects in Europe and called on its suppliers to decarbonize operations related to the production of iPhones and other products. The company in 2020 had pledged to remove carbon emissions from its entire business, including products and its sprawling supply chain - which spans from Vietnam to Brazil.

7. Jakson Green has inked a pact to invest Rs 22,400 crore to set up a green hydrogen and green ammonia project, in phases, in Rajasthan. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the government of Rajasthan to this effect. Jakson Green will set up a 3,65,000 tons per annum Green Hydrogen & Green Ammonia plant along with an integrated hybrid renewable power complex in a phase wise manner, it stated. The project is expected to generate over 32,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities across various phases of the scale-up, planned between 2023 and 2028, it claimed.

Ø  जैक्सन ग्रीन ने राजस्थान में हरित हाइड्रोजन और हरित अमोनिया परियोजना स्थापित करने के लिए 22,400 करोड़ रुपये के निवेश का समझौता किया है। कंपनी ने इस उद्देश्य की पूर्ति के लिए राजस्थान सरकार के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। जैक्सन ग्रीन चरणबद्ध तरीके से एक एकीकृत हाइब्रिड अक्षय ऊर्जा परिसर के साथ 3,65,000 टन प्रति वर्ष ग्रीन हाइड्रोजन और ग्रीन अमोनिया संयंत्र स्थापित करेगा। इस परियोजना से 2023 और 2028 के बीच योजनाबद्ध पैमाने के विभिन्न चरणों में 32,000 से अधिक प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष रोजगार के अवसर सृजित होने की उम्मीद है।

8. International Animation Day is observed on 28th October to celebrate the art of animation and promote it. The International Animation Day (IAD) was proclaimed in 2002 by the ASIFA or “Association Internationale du Film d’Animation” (the International Animated Film Association) as the main global event to celebrate the art of animation. The International Animated Film Association (ASIFA) is an international non-profit organization founded in 1960, with chapters in as many as 30 countries including Iran.

Ø  एनीमेशन की कला का उत्सव मनाने और इसे प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए 28 अक्टूबर को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय एनिमेशन दिवस मनाया जाता है। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय एनिमेशन दिवस (IAD) को 2002 में ASIFA या "एसोसिएशन इंटरनेशनेल डू फिल्म डी'एनीमेशन" (इंटरनेशनल एनिमेटेड फिल्म एसोसिएशन) द्वारा एनीमेशन की कला का उत्सव मनाने के लिए मुख्य वैश्विक कार्यक्रम के रूप में घोषित किया गया था। इंटरनेशनल एनिमेटेड फिल्म एसोसिएशन (ASIFA) 1960 में स्थापित एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय गैर-लाभकारी संगठन है, जिसकी ईरान सहित 30 से अधिक देशों में शाखाएं हैं।

9. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena launched a one-time property tax amnesty scheme "SAMRIDDHI 2022-23", which will provide a major relief to lakhs of residential and commercial property owners in the city. SAMRIDDHI, an acronym for Strengthening and Augmentation of Municipal Revenue for Infrastructure Development in Delhi, will start on October 26 and end on March 31, 2023, with no further extensions.

Ø  दिल्ली के उपराज्यपाल विनय कुमार सक्सेना ने एकमुश्त संपत्ति कर माफी योजना "समृद्धि 2022-23" प्रारम्भ की है, जो शहर के लाखों आवासीय और वाणिज्यिक संपत्ति मालिकों को एक बड़ी राहत प्रदान करेगी। दिल्ली में इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर डेवलपमेंट के लिए म्यूनिसिपल रेवेन्यू के सुदृढ़ीकरण और वृद्धि (SAMRIDDHI), 26 अक्टूबर से प्रारम्भ होगा और 31 मार्च, 2023 को समाप्त होगा।

10. Indian scientists have developed an Overhauser Magnetometer, one of the most accurate magnetometers extensively used by all magnetic observatories around the world, making way for reducing the cost of sampling and sensing experiments essential for geomagnetic sampling. The sensor installed at Alibag Magnetic Observatory (MO) can absolve India’s dependence on commercial OVH magnetometers for performing geomagnetic field measurements.

Ø  भारतीय वैज्ञानिकों ने एक ओवरहॉसर मैग्नेटोमीटर विकसित किया है, जो दुनिया भर की सभी चुंबकीय वेधशालाओं द्वारा व्यापक रूप से उपयोग किए जाने वाले ऐसे सबसे अच्छे मैग्नेटोमीटर में से एक है, जो भू-चुंबकीय सैंपलिंग के लिए आवश्यक सैंपलिंग और संवेदन (सेंसिंग) प्रयोगों की लागत को कम करने का मार्ग प्रशस्त करता है। अलीबाग चुंबकीय वेधशाला (एमओ) में स्थापित सेंसर भू-चुंबकीय क्षेत्र मापन के लिए वाणिज्यिक ओवीएच मैग्नेटोमीटर के बारे में भारत की निर्भरता का समाधान कर सकता है।
