1.The 10th edition of Dhaka Lit Fest (DLF), the largest international literary festival in Bangladesh, which was postponed three years in a row owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, is scheduled for January 5-8, 2023. The Bangla Academy in Dhaka’s historic grounds will serve as the venue for the event. The Dhaka Lit Fest (DLF), founded in 2011 with the goal of showcasing Dhaka and Bangladeshi literature and culture to the world.

Ø ढाका साहित्य महोत्सव (डीएलएफ) का 10वां संस्करण, बांग्लादेश में सबसे बड़ा अंतर्राष्ट्रीय साहित्यिक महोत्सव है; जिसे कोविड-19 महामारी के कारण लगातार तीन वर्ष के लिए स्थगित कर दिया गया था, को 5-8 जनवरी, 2023 के मध्य आयोजित किया जा रहा है। ढाका में बांग्ला अकादमी ऐतिहासिक मैदान को आयोजन स्थल के रूप में चुना गया है। ढाका साहित्य महोत्सव (डीएलएफ), 2011 में ढाका और बांग्लादेशी साहित्य और संस्कृति को विश्व को प्रदर्शित करने के लक्ष्य के साथ स्थापित किया गया था।

2. The gross GST revenue collected during December 2022 is Rs 1,49,507 crore, of which CGST is Rs 26,711 crore, SGST is Rs 33,357 crore, IGST is Rs 78,434 crore (including Rs 40,263 crore collected on import of goods) and Cess is Rs 11,005 crore (including Rs 850 crore collected on import of goods). The revenues for the month of December 2022 are 15% higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year.

Ø दिसंबर, 2022 के अवधि में सकल जीएसटी राजस्व 1,49,507 करोड़ रुपये संग्रहित हुआ है, जिसमें से सीजीएसटी 26,711 करोड़ रुपये है, एसजीएसटी 33,357 करोड़ रुपये है, आईजीएसटी 78,434 करोड़ रुपये (वस्तुओं के आयात पर संग्रहित 40,263 करोड़ रुपये सहित) और उपकर 11,005 करोड़ रुपये (वस्तुओं के आयात पर संग्रहित 850 करोड़ रुपये सहित) है। दिसंबर, 2022 के माह की अवधि में राजस्व पिछले वर्ष के समान माह में जीएसटी राजस्व की तुलना में 15 प्रतिशत अधिक है।

3. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of the Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI) at Devanahalli in Karnataka and inaugurated the residential and administrative complexes of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The residential complexes of ITBP inaugurated by Shri Amit Shah include Residential Quarters, Joint Building, Barracks for 120 Jawans, Staff Officers’ Mess and Officers' Mess. 

Ø केंद्रीय गृह और सहकारिता मंत्री श्री अमित शाह ने कर्नाटक के देवनहल्ली में केंद्रीय जासूस प्रशिक्षण संस्थान (सीडीटीआई) की आधारशिला रखी और भारत-तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस (आईटीबीपी) के आवासीय और प्रशासनिक परिसरों का उद्घाटन किया। श्री अमित शाह द्वारा उद्घाटन किए गए आईटीबीपी के आवासीय परिसरों में आवासीय क्वार्टर, संयुक्त भवन, 120 जवानों के लिए बैरक, स्टाफ ऑफिसर्स मेस और ऑफिसर्स मेस शामिल हैं। केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा कि सीमा पर गश्त कर रहे जवानों को कम से कम 100 दिनों तक परिवार के साथ मुख्यालय में रहने का अवसर प्राप्त हो सके, इसके लिए ड्यूटी रोस्टर भी तैयार किया जा रहा है।

4.The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank continue to remain Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs). SIBs are perceived as ones that are ‘Too Big To Fail’ and their continued functioning is critical for the uninterrupted availability of essential banking services to the real economy. The RBI had issued the framework for dealing with Domestic Systemically Important Banks in July 2014.

Ø भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने कहा है कि भारतीय स्टेट बैंक, ICICI बैंक और HDFC बैंक घरेलू-व्यवस्थित रूप से महत्वपूर्ण बैंक (D-SIB) बने हुए हैं। एसआईबी को 'टू बिग टू फेल' (जिनके कार्य-प्रणाली पर संकट आने से संपूर्ण अर्थव्यवस्था पर संकट आ जाए) माना जाता है और उनका निरंतर कामकाज वास्तविक अर्थव्यवस्था के लिए आवश्यक बैंकिंग सेवाओं की निर्बाध उपलब्धता के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। आरबीआई ने जुलाई, 2014 में घरेलू-व्यवस्थित रूप से महत्वपूर्ण बैंकों से निपटने के लिए रूपरेखा जारी की थी।

5. The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), the two institutions under the Ministry of Ayush, government of India for regulating medical education and conducting scientific research respectively, have launched 'SMART' (Scope for Mainstreaming Ayurveda Research in Teaching Professionals). 'SMART' or Scope for Mainstreaming Ayurveda Research in Teaching Professionals programme is aimed to boost scientific research in priority healthcare research areas through Ayurveda colleges and hospitals.

Ø आयुष मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के अधीन क्रमशः चिकित्सा शिक्षा को विनियमित करने और वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान करने वाली दो संस्थाओं, राष्ट्रीय भारतीय चिकित्सा प्रणाली आयोग (एनसीआईएसएम) और केंद्रीय आयुर्वेदिक विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद (सीसीआरएएस) ने 'स्मार्ट' योजना (शिक्षण व्यावसायिकों में आयुर्वेद अनुसंधान को मुख्यधारा में लाने का कार्य-क्षेत्र) लॉन्च किया है। 'स्मार्ट' या स्कोप फॉर मेनस्ट्रीमिंग आयुर्वेद रिसर्च इन टीचिंग प्रोफेशनल प्रोग्राम का उद्देश्य आयुर्वेद कॉलेजों और अस्पतालों के माध्यम से प्राथमिकता वाले स्वास्थ्य अनुसंधान क्षेत्रों में वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान को प्रोत्साहन प्रदान करना है।

6. India’s flagship payment platform, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), ended the 2022 calendar year on a high note as the volume of transactions touched a record 7.82 billion in December, amounting to Rs 12.82 trillion, again a record high. Data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the umbrella body for retail digital payments in the country, showed volume of transactions in December was up 7.12 per cent compared to November, while value of transactions was up 7.73 per cent during the same period. On a year-on-year basis, in December, volume of transactions was up 71 per cent and value of transactions was up 55 per cent.

7.In remembrance of the birth of Louis Braille, the inventor of Braille, January 4 is marked as World Braille Day.  Each letter of the alphabet and each number are represented by six dots in the tactile
writing system known as Braille. Additionally, the dots stand for mathematical, scientific, and musical symbols. People who are blind or partially sighted can read and write using this system. They are able to read books with the visual font using Braille. The UN General Assembly proclaimed January 4 to be World Braille Day in November 2018. The following year, the first-ever World Braille Day was commemorated and recognized as a global holiday.

Ø ब्रेल के आविष्कारक लुई ब्रेल के जन्म की स्मृति में 4 जनवरी को विश्व ब्रेल दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। वर्णमाला के प्रत्येक अक्षर और प्रत्येक संख्या को स्पर्श के आधार पर छह बिंदुओं द्वारा दर्शाया गया है, और इस लेखन प्रणाली को ब्रेल के नाम से जाना जाता है। इसके अतिरिक्त, डॉट्स गणितीय, वैज्ञानिक और संगीत प्रतीकों को निरुपित करते हैं। जो लोग नेत्रहीन या आंशिक रूप से दृष्टिहीन हैं; वे इस प्रणाली का उपयोग करके पढ़ और लिख सकते हैं। वे ब्रेल का उपयोग करके दृश्य फ़ॉन्ट वाली पुस्तकें पढ़ने में सक्षम हो पाएंगे। संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने नवंबर, 2018 में 4 जनवरी को विश्व ब्रेल दिवस घोषित किया था। अगले वर्ष, पहली बार विश्व ब्रेल दिवस मनाया गया और इसे वैश्विक अवकाश के रूप में मान्यता दी गई थी।

8.Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee National Institute of Water and Sanitation (SPM-NIWAS) at Joka in Kolkata via video conferencing. Through this apex institute on Water and Sanitation, the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) aims to bridge the knowledge and capacity building gap in the field of public health engineering, sanitation & hygiene, through short, medium & long-term courses which are not just related to engineering but also cover aspects of management, health, accounting, law and public policies.

Ø प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से कोलकाता के जोका में डॉ. श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी राष्ट्रीय जल एवं स्वच्छता संस्थान (एसपीएम-निवास) का उद्घाटन किया जल और स्वच्छता विषय के इस शीर्ष संस्थान के माध्यम से, पेयजल और स्वच्छता विभाग (DDWS) का उद्देश्य लघु, मध्यम और दीर्घकालिक पाठ्यक्रमों के माध्यम से सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य इंजीनियरिंग, स्वच्छता और स्वास्थ्य सम्बंधित स्वच्छता के क्षेत्र में ज्ञान और क्षमता निर्माण के अंतराल को समाप्त करना है। ये न केवल इंजीनियरिंग से संबंधित हैं अपितु प्रबंधन, स्वास्थ्य, लेखा, कानून और सार्वजनिक नीतियों के पहलुओं को भी कवर करते हैं।

9. The Election Commission is focusing on 929 polling booths across Tripura, setting a target of 92 per cent voter turnout in the assembly elections due early this year. These booths recorded a voter turnout of less than 89 per cent, which was the average across 3,328 booths in the 2018 assembly polls. All requisite arrangements such as ramps, wheelchairs and separate queues will be arranged at every polling station to felicitate senior citizens and persons with disability. The official said that the EC is also working on 'Mission Zero Poll Violence' to make the assembly elections peaceful.

Ø भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग, पूरे त्रिपुरा में 929 मतदान केंद्रों पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर रहा है, और इस वर्ष के प्रारंभ में होने वाले विधानसभा चुनावों में 92 प्रतिशत मतदान का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। इन बूथों पर 89 फीसदी से कम मतदान दर्ज किया गया, जो 2018 के विधानसभा चुनावों में 3,328 बूथों पर औसत था। वरिष्ठ नागरिकों और विकलांग व्यक्तियों को सम्मानित करने के लिए प्रत्येक मतदान केंद्र पर रैंप, व्हीलचेयर और अलग-अलग पंक्तियों जैसी सभी आवश्यक व्यवस्थाएं की जाएंगी। भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग, विधानसभा चुनाव शांतिपूर्ण कराने के लिए 'मिशन जीरो पोल वायलेंस' पर भी कार्य कर रहा है।

10.  Eminent Rabindra Sangeet exponent Sumitra Sen died at her residence here on Tuesday morning, family members said. Sen, 89, was suffering from broncho-pneumonia and was hospitalised on December 21. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condoled the demise of Sen, saying her death is an irreparable loss for the music world. Her memorable songs that regaled Rabindra Sangeet lovers for over four decades include Megh Bolechhe Jabo Jabo, Tomari Jharnatalar Nirjone, Sakhi Bhabona Kahare Bole and Achhe Dukho Achhe Mrityu.

Ø प्रख्यात रवींद्र संगीत प्रतिपादक सुमित्रा सेन का उनके आवास पर निधन हो गया है। 89 वर्षीय सुमित्रा सेन ब्रोंको-निमोनिया से पीड़ित थीं और उन्हें 21 दिसंबर को अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था। पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने सेन के निधन पर शोक व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि उनका निधन संगीत के जगत के लिए एक अपूरणीय क्षति है। चार दशकों से अधिक समय तक रवींद्र संगीत प्रेमियों को प्रभावित करने वाले उनके यादगार गीतों में मेघ बोलेछे जबो जाबो, तोमरी झरनातालर निर्जोन, सखी भबोना कहेरे बोले और आछे दुखो आछे मृत्यु शामिल हैं।
