1.       The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru and the Indian Navy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on aviation research and development and to ramp up self-reliance efforts for the Navy.

 

2.       A floating solar power plant is going to be built in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa, Said to be the world's largest floating solar plant, it will generate 600Megawatt power by 2022-23. The project is estimated to be worth over ₹3000 crores.

 

3.       The repo rate, the rate at which RBI lends money to commercial banks, has been hiked by one half of a percent. Considering the prevailing adverse global environment, resilience in domestic economic activity, uncomfortably high inflation level, the RBI has hiked the policy repo rate by 50 basis points, to 5.40%.

 

4.       Former boxing world champion Johnny Famechon has died in Melbourne after a lengthy illness. He was 77. The Australian boxer’s most memorable world title victory was his win against Cuban Jose Legra at London’s Albert Hall in 1969.

 

5.       UNESCO has added a 106-year-old astronomical observatory at Langat Singh College in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur on its list of important heritage observatories of the world—raising hopes of reviving the neglected edifice that has little to show of its glorious past.

 

6.       With the objective of connecting with the youth of the nation, and to promote a deeper sense of patriotism among them, the Ministry of Culture, has decided to create a youth centric activation for greater outreach of Amrit Mahotsav named ‘Badhe Chalo’.

 

7.       To commemorate 75 years of Independence under the patriotic campaign of “Har Ghar Tiranga”, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will be hoisting the National Flag in 150 monuments/sites across the country.

 

8.       Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts (IGNCA) today organised seminar on "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” under program of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in New Delhi.

 

9.       Indian Navy on 05 Aug 22 signed a MoU with the Space Applications Centre (ISRO), Ahmedabad on data sharing and cooperation on Satellite based Naval Applications in Oceanology and Meteorology.

10.   Ministry of Culture and Google kick started   the initiative, India ki Udaan’ to celebrate the unwavering, undying, spirit of India and its achievements in past 75 years. This joint venture was organised under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
