1. Hyderabad will conduct Round 4 of the 17 races for the 9th season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship which will be organized between January and July 2023. The event will place Hyderabad as a global destination for e-mobility. A total of 11 teams with 22 cars will be racing at the championship, including some of the top racing companies in the world. The partnership between Ace Nxt Gen Formula E and the Government of Telangana is four-year long and the championship will take place in India until 2026. The last international racing event hosted by India was in 2013 when the country hosted the Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

3.The Reserve Bank has announced the indicative calendar for the issuance of Sovereign Green Bonds. Accordingly, two auctions will be conducted for an amount of eight thousand crore rupees each. The first auction will be held on the 25th of this month while the second has been scheduled for the 9th of February. The RBI has informed that five percent of the notified amount will be reserved for retail investors. Investors will have a choice to put in their money for either five years or ten years. The bonds will also be eligible for trading in secondary markets. It may be recalled that the Union Government had announced Sovereign Green Bonds as part of its overall market borrowings in the Budget 2022-23.

Ø भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने सॉवरेन ग्रीन बॉन्ड जारी करने के लिए सांकेतिक कैलेंडर की घोषणा की है। तदनुसार, दो नीलामी प्रत्येक आठ हजार करोड़ रुपये की राशि के लिए आयोजित की जाएगी। पहली नीलामी जनवरी माह की 25 तारीख को होगी, जबकि दूसरी 9 फरवरी को होनी है। आरबीआई ने सूचित किया है कि अधिसूचित राशि का पांच प्रतिशत खुदरा निवेशकों के लिए आरक्षित होगा। निवेशकों के पास पांच वर्ष या दस वर्ष की अवधि के लिए अपने धन निवेश करने का विकल्प होगा। यह बांड, द्वितीयक बाजारों में व्यापार के लिए भी पात्र होंगे। यह उल्लेखनीय है कि केंद्र सरकार ने बजट 2022-23 में अपने समग्र बाजार उधार के अंतर्गत सॉवरेन ग्रीन बॉन्ड की घोषणा की थी।

4.In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will unveil the mascot, torch, and anthem of Khelo India Youth Games-2022 in a colorful program at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal. In this program, various facets of Khelo India will be explained through drone and laser shows. Madhya Pradesh is hosting the fifth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games. In this sports event, to be held from the 30th of January to the 11th of February, six thousand players will show their sports skills in eight different cities for 13 days. 

Ø मध्य प्रदेश में मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान, भोपाल के शौर्य स्मारक में खेलो इंडिया यूथ गेम्स-2022 के शुभंकर, मशाल और गान का अनावरण करेंगे। इस कार्यक्रम में खेलो इंडिया के विभिन्न पहलुओं को ड्रोन और लेजर शो के माध्यम से समझाया जाएगा। मध्य प्रदेश खेलो इंडिया यूथ गेम्स के पांचवें संस्करण की मेजबानी कर रहा है। 30 जनवरी से 11 फरवरी तक होने वाले इस खेल आयोजन में 13 दिनों तक आठ अलग-अलग शहरों में छह हजार खिलाड़ी अपने खेल कौशल का प्रदर्शन करेंगे।

5.The Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela will be conducted in 242 districts of the country on the 9th of this month. The Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry said, several local businesses, companies, and organisations have been invited to be part of the mela. The Mela will provide a unique platform for the participating organizations to select the apprentices. Candidates who are class five to Class 12th pass-outs and have skill training certificates, or ITI Diploma holders or graduates can apply for this apprenticeship mela.

Ø प्रधानमंत्री राष्ट्रीय अप्रेंटिस मेला जनवरी माह की 9 तारीख को देश के 242 जिलों में आयोजित किया जाएगा। कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता मंत्रालय के अनुसार इस मेले का हिस्सा बनने के लिए कई स्थानीय व्यवसायों, कंपनियों और संगठनों को आमंत्रित किया गया है। यह मेला, भाग लेने वाले संगठनों को प्रशिक्षुओं का चयन करने के लिए एक अनूठा मंच प्रदान करेगा। वे उम्मीदवार, जो कक्षा पांच से कक्षा 12वीं तक की शिक्षा में पास हो चुके हैं और जिनके पास कौशल प्रशिक्षण प्रमाणपत्र हैं, या आईटीआई डिप्लोमा धारक या स्नातक हैं, वे इस अप्रेंटिस मेले के लिए आवेदन कर सकते हैं।

6.Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium, the largest hockey stadium in the country. Rourkela will host 20 of the 44 matches while the remaining 24 matches, including the final, will be played at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. India's first match against Spain is scheduled to be played at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium here on January 13. The stadium named after eminent tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, was built at a cost of Rs 146 crore. The total capacity of the stadium is 21,000 and it is the largest hockey stadium in the country. The state will be hosting the men's hockey world cup for the second time in a row. The first such event was organized in 2018. This will be the fourth time India will host this event.

Ø ओडिशा के मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक ने देश के सबसे बड़े हॉकी स्टेडियम बिरसा मुंडा अंतरराष्ट्रीय हॉकी स्टेडियम का उद्घाटन किया है। राउरकेला, 44 में से 20 मैचों की मेजबानी करेगा, जबकि फाइनल सहित शेष 24 मैच, भुवनेश्वर के कलिंगा स्टेडियम में खेले जाएंगे। भारत का पहला मैच स्पेन के खिलाफ 13 जनवरी को बिरसा मुंडा हॉकी स्टेडियम में खेला जाएगा। प्रख्यात आदिवासी स्वतंत्रता सेनानी बिरसा मुंडा के नाम पर स्थित स्टेडियम को 146 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनाया गया है। स्टेडियम की कुल क्षमता 21,000 है और यह देश का सबसे बड़ा हॉकी स्टेडियम है। यह राज्य लगातार दूसरी बार पुरुष हॉकी विश्व कप की मेजबानी करेगा। इस तरह का पहला आयोजन वर्ष 2018 में किया गया था। यह चौथी बार होगा जब भारत इस कार्यक्रम की मेजबानी करेगा।

7. The Assam government has decided to confer the State’s highest civilian award, ‘Assam Baibhav,’ on Dr. Tapan Saikia, an internationally acclaimed doctor for his contributions to the field of cancer care in the State. The Chief Minister also announced 15 names for the 'Asom Gaurav’ the third highest civilian award for their exceptional contribution to society. Mr. Sarma informed that these names for Awards were announced based on citizens' recommendations as well as Government's own research and findings and these awards are for those who have made an impact on people’s lives directly through their personal quality.

8.Bandhan Bank has launched its ‘Jahaan Bandhan, Wahaan Trust’ campaign featuring cricketer Sourav Ganguly as its brand ambassador. This is the first time that Bandhan Bank has appointed a pan-India brand ambassador. The campaign was conceptualised by Leo Burnett Orchard, which was brought in as the bank’s creative agency in August 2022. Bandhan Bank, in the last seven years, has established its presence in 34 states and union territories and has more than 2.77 crore customers.

9.M Pranesh clinched the title in the Rilton Cup, the first tournament of the FIDE Circuit, to become India’s 79th chess Grandmaster. The 16-year-old Pranesh crossed the 2500-rating threshold and became a GM, having completed his three norms before the Rilton Cup. To become a GM, a player has to secure three GM norms and cross the live rating of 2,500 Elo points.

10.The United States just approved the world's first vaccine for honey bees. To prevent bee deaths caused from American foulbrood disease (a bacterial condition that weakens bee colonies), the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) approved a conditional license for the vaccine this week. The vaccine works by introducing an inactive version of the bacteria into the royal jelly that is fed to the queen bee. Her larvae then gain immunity against this disease.
