1. Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud has been selected for the "Award for Global Leadership" by the Harvard Law School Center in recognition of his lifetime service to the legal profession in the country and around the world. The award will be presented to him at an online event on January 11. Justice Chandrachud was sworn in as the 50th CJI on November 9, 2022.

Ø भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश डी.वाई. चंद्रचूड़ को देश और विश्व भर में कानूनी पेशे के लिए आजीवन सेवा के सम्मान में हार्वर्ड लॉ स्कूल सेंटर द्वारा "वैश्विक नेतृत्व के लिए पुरस्कार" के लिए चुना गया है। यह पुरस्कार उन्हें 11 जनवरी को एक ऑनलाइन कार्यक्रम में प्रदान किया जाएगा। न्यायमूर्ति चंद्रचूड़ ने 9 नवंबर, 2022 को 50वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में शपथ ली थी।

2. Indian Railways Ghaziabad-Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay section has become the nation’s longest fully Automatic Block Signalling (ABS) section. The 762 km long route has been fully automated. With its implementation, the increase in line capacity to run more train services will become possible. The Railways has planned to implement the project on existing high-density train routes. The railways has adopted the ‘Electronic Interlocking’ to derive benefits of digital and modern technologies in train operation and to enhance safety.

भारतीय रेलवे का ‘गाजियाबाद-पंडित दीन दयाल उपाध्याय खंड’ देश का सबसे लंबा पूर्ण स्वचालित ब्लॉक सिग्नलिंग (एबीएस) खंड बन गया है। 762 किलोमीटर लंबे रूट को पूर्ण रूप से ऑटोमेटेड कर दिया गया है। इसके लागू होने से अधिक-से-अधिक ट्रेन सेवाओं को चलाने के लिए लाइन क्षमता में वृद्धि संभव हो सकेगी। रेलवे ने वर्तमान उच्च घनत्व वाले ट्रेन मार्गों पर परियोजना को लागू करने की योजना बनाई है। रेलवे ने ट्रेन संचालन में डिजिटल और आधुनिक तकनीकों का लाभ उठाने और सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए 'इलेक्ट्रॉनिक इंटरलॉकिंग' की व्यवस्था को अपनाया है।

3.   e-NAM, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, has won the Platinum Award in the Digital Empowerment of Citizens Category in Digital India Awards 2022 held in New Delhi. e-NAM is a digital platform integrating 1260 APMC mandis across 22 States and 3 UTs to facilitate online trading of 203 agriculture and horticulture commodities to enable farmers to realize better remunerative prices for their produce.

Ø कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्रालय की एक प्रमुख पहल ई-नाम ने नई दिल्ली में आयोजित डिजिटल इंडिया पुरस्कार 2022 में डिजिटल नागरिक सशक्तिकरण श्रेणी में प्लेटिनम पुरस्कार जीता है। ई-नाम, 22 राज्यों और 3 संघ राज्य क्षेत्रों में 1260 एपीएमसी मंडियों को एकीकृत करने वाला एक डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म है, जिससे कि 203 कृषि और बागवानी जिंसों के ऑनलाइन व्यापार की सुविधा मिल सके और इससे किसानों को उनकी उपज के लिए बेहतर लाभकारी मूल्य प्राप्त करने में सक्षम बनाया जा सके।

4. Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Education organized the Dhara on Sangeet and Natya Parampara  on 5th-6th January, 2023 at SASTRA (Deemed-to-be University) in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu in collaboration with Brhat, Prachyam and Sangam Talks. Dhara is   a series of conferences under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to create awareness, preserve and promote multiple domains of Indian Knowledge Systems.

Ø संस्कृति मंत्रालय और शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने 5-6 जनवरी, 2023 को तमिलनाडु के तंजावुर में एसएएसटीआरए (मान्य विश्वविद्यालय) में ब्रहाट, प्राच्यम और संगम टॉक्स के सहयोग से संगीत और नाट्य परम्परा पर ‘धारा’ नामक कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया है। 'धारा', आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव के तत्वावधान में जागरूकता पैदा करने, संरक्षित करने और भारतीय ज्ञान प्रणाली के कई क्षेत्रों को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए सम्मेलनों की एक व्यापक श्रृंखला है।

5.To promote Air Defence cooperation between the countries, India and Japan are all set to hold the joint Air Exercise, 'Veer Guardian-2023' involving the Indian Air Force and Japan Air Self Defence Force (JASDF) at Hyakuri Air Base, Japan from 12 January 2023 to 26 January 2023. This exercise will be another step in deepening strategic ties and closer defence cooperation between the two countries. The second 2+2 Foreign and Defence Ministerial meeting was held in Tokyo, Japan on 08 September 2022.

Ø भारत और जापान के बीच वायु रक्षा सहयोग को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए भारत तथा जापान संयुक्त वायु अभ्यास 'वीर गार्जियन-2023' आयोजित करने जा रहे हैं। यह अभ्यास, जापान के हयाकुरी एयर बेस में 12 से जनवरी 2023 से 26 जनवरी 2023 के बीच आयोजित होगी, जिसमें भारतीय वायु सेना और जापान एयर सेल्फ डिफेंस फोर्स (जेएएसडीएफ) भाग ले रहे हैं। यह अभ्यास दोनों देशों के बीच रणनीतिक संबंधों को विस्तार देने तथा रक्षा सहयोग को मजबूत करने की दिशा में एक और महत्वपूर्ण कदम सिद्ध होगा। दूसरी 2+2 विदेश और रक्षा मंत्रिस्तरीय बैठक 08 सितंबर 2022 को टोक्यो, जापान में आयोजित की गई थी।

6.        Indian squash prodigy Anahat Singh clinched the girls Under-15 squash title at the most prestigious British Junior Open tournament in Birmingham. The 14-year-old defeated Sohaila Hazem of Egypt, 3-1 in the final. Despite the first set being closely contested, she took the lead and won the tournament. The British Junior Open is held in January every year in the UK where all the best players from all over the world compete to win the coveted title. This year it was held after a gap of two years from the 4th to the 8th of January. 

Ø भारतीय स्क्वैश खिलाड़ी अनाहत सिंह ने बर्मिंघम में सबसे प्रतिष्ठित ब्रिटिश जूनियर ओपन टूर्नामेंट में लड़कियों के अंडर -15 स्क्वैश का खिताब जीता है। 14 वर्षीय अनाहत ने फाइनल में मिस्र की सोहेला हजेम को 3-1 से हराया है। पहले सेट में कड़ा मुकाबला होने के बाद भी उन्होंने प्रयास किया और यह टूर्नामेंट जीत लिया। ब्रिटिश जूनियर ओपन प्रत्येक वर्ष जनवरी माह में यूनाइटेड किंगडम में आयोजित किया जाता है, जहां विश्व भर के सभी बेहतरीन खिलाड़ी प्रतिष्ठित खिताब जीतने के लिए प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हैं। इस वर्ष यह 4 से 8 जनवरी तक दो वर्ष के अंतराल के बाद आयोजित किया गया था।

7.Former West Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi passed away at his home in Prayagraj. He was 88. The three-time speaker of the U.P. Legislative Assembly had been unwell for the past around one month. Apart from West Bengal, Tripathi had held additional charge as the Governor of Bihar, Meghalaya and Mizoram for short stints. Born on November 10, 1934 in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, Tripathi was also a senior advocate at the Allahabad High Court.

Ø पश्चिम बंगाल के पूर्व राज्यपाल केशरी नाथ त्रिपाठी का प्रयागराज में उनके घर पर निधन हो गया है। वह 88 वर्ष के थे। उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा के तीन बार के स्पीकर रह चुके श्री त्रिपाठी, पिछले एक माह से अस्वस्थ थे। त्रिपाठी ने पश्चिम बंगाल के साथ-साथ बिहार, मेघालय और मिजोरम के राज्यपाल के रूप में छोटे कार्यकाल के लिए अतिरिक्त प्रभार संभाला था। 10 नवंबर, 1934 को उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रयागराज जिले में जन्मे त्रिपाठी इलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालय में वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता भी थे।

8.Nepal has made the COVID-19 negative report mandatory for all international passengers. Nepal Airlines said that passengers arriving from the international sector mandatorily must present COVID-19 international certificate or COVID-19 RT PCR negative report. Several countries, where Nepal has a high mobility rate, including South Korea and Japan, have been witnessing massive spikes in Covid infections.  The Civil Aviation Authority Nepal made the decision to mandate an international Covid-19 vaccination certificate or RT- PCR negative report in December last year. 

Ø नेपाल ने सभी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय यात्रियों के लिए COVID-19 नकारात्मक रिपोर्ट अनिवार्य कर दिया है। नेपाल एयरलाइंस ने कहा है कि अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सेक्टर से आने वाले यात्रियों को अनिवार्य रूप से कोविड-19 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रमाणपत्र या कोविड-19 आरटी पीसीआर निगेटिव रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करनी होगी। दक्षिण कोरिया और जापान सहित कई देशों में; जहां नेपाल की गतिशीलता दर उच्च है, वहां कोविड संक्रमणों में भारी वृद्धि देखी गई है। नागरिक उड्डयन प्राधिकरण, नेपाल ने पिछले वर्ष दिसंबर में एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कोविड-19 टीकाकरण प्रमाणपत्र या आरटी-पीसीआर नकारात्मक रिपोर्ट अनिवार्य करने का निर्णय लिया था।

9.     A Military Tattoo and Tribal Dance Festival - Aadi Shaurya - Parv Parakram Ka will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in New Delhi on the 23rd of this month. The objective is to celebrate together the bravery of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, embrace the true spirit of India and renew the commitment to building a strong and prosperous New India. The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs are jointly organising the event.

Ø एक सैन्य टैटू और आदिवासी नृत्य महोत्सव; आदि शौर्य - पर्व पराक्रम, को इस माह की 23 तारीख को नई दिल्ली के जवाहरलाल नेहरू स्टेडियम में आयोजित किया जाएगा। इसका उद्देश्य नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस की बहादुरी का उत्सव मनाना, भारत की सच्ची भावना को अपनाना और एक मजबूत और समृद्ध नए भारत के निर्माण की प्रतिबद्धता को नवीनीकृत करना है। रक्षा मंत्रालय और जनजातीय कार्यों के मंत्रालय संयुक्त रूप से इस कार्यक्रम का आयोजन कर रहे हैं।

10. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Leh Sub Area and Looms of Ladakh Co-operative Limited on Saturday at Leh, under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps. The aim of the Memorandum of Understanding is to impart weaving and tailoring training to Veer Naris, widows and dependent ladies of veterans from Ladakh in three cycles of two months each. This joint collaboration will go a long way in providing self-sufficiency to these ladies and empower them for their future endeavours. 

Ø फायर एंड फ्यूरी कॉर्प्स के तत्वावधान में लेह में लेह सब एरिया और लूम्स ऑफ लद्दाख को-ऑपरेटिव लिमिटेड के बीच एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए हैं। समझौता ज्ञापन का उद्देश्य वीर नारियों, विधवाओं और लद्दाख के पूर्व सैनिकों की आश्रित महिलाओं को दो-दो माह के तीन चक्रों में बुनाई और सिलाई का प्रशिक्षण देना है। यह संयुक्त सहयोग इन महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भरता प्रदान करने और उनके भविष्य के प्रयासों के लिए उन्हें सशक्त बनाने में एक लंबा मार्ग निर्धारित करेगा।
