Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE schools are functioning in
virtual mode for the session of 2020-21. Due to the extreme risk, CBSE has
changed the examination pattern of X & XII for the session 2021-2022.
Highlights of the special scheme for CBSE Class X & XII, Session 2021-22:
· CBSE Academic Session 2021-22 has been divided into two Terms i.e., Term-I & Term-II.
· Assessment of Term-I will be based on 50% CBSE Syllabus and assessment of Term-II will be based on the remaining 50% CBSE Syllabus. In Term-I, the Question Paper will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) including case-based MCQs and MCQs on the assertion-reasoning
type. The duration of the Term-I test will be 90 minutes and it will cover only the rationalized syllabus of Term-I only. Answers of MCQs to be marked on the OMR sheet (If the situation gets worse because of COVID-19, then the examination might be taken online).
· At the end of 2nd term, the Board would organize Term-II Examination based on the rationalized syllabus of Term-II only (i.e. approximately 50% of the entire syllabus). Term-II paper will be of 2 hours duration and have questions of different formats (case-based/ situation based, open-ended- short answer/ long answer type). If the situation gets worse
because of COVID-19, then the examination might be taken online.
· Marks of the Term-I and Term-II Examination would contribute to the final overall score.
