The SBI SO exam is conducted by the State Bank of India (SBI) to recruit Specialist Officers for various positions in the bank. The exam is conducted once a year, and the notification is released on the official website of SBI. The exam consists of two stages: an online written test and an interview.
The State Bank of India (SBI) Specialist Officer (SO) exam is conducted in two phases:
- Online Examination
- Interview
Here are the details of the exam pattern for each of the phases:
1. Online Examination:
- The SBI SO Exam is conducted online and consists of two parts - an objective test and a descriptive test.
- The objective test is conducted for all posts except for Law Officer and consists of four sections: Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and Professional Knowledge.
- The objective test is of 220 marks, with 50 marks allotted to Reasoning Ability, 35 marks each to Quantitative Aptitude and English Language, and 100 marks to Professional Knowledge.
- The duration of the exam is 2 hours for Law Officer and 2 hours and 40 minutes for other posts.
- The descriptive test is conducted for the post of Law Officer only and consists of two questions - one letter writing and one essay writing.
- The descriptive test is of 30 marks, and the duration of the exam is 30 minutes.
2. Interview:
- Candidates who qualify in the Online Examination are called for an interview.
- The interview carries 30 marks.
The final merit list is prepared based on the scores obtained in the Online Examination and the Interview. The weightage given to each component is as follows:
- Online Examination - 80%
- Interview - 20%

- SC / ST / PH: 0/-
- Pay the Examination Fee Through Online Fee Mode Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking Only.
